  HOURS:

  • Production / Forge Utility 5:30 am - 4 pm Mon - Fri and some OT on Sat

  Scot Forge is a 100% employee-owned company that manufactures custom open die and rolled ring forgings.

  Scot Forge has locations in Franklin Park, IL, Spring Grove, IL, and Clinton, WI.

  ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-

  • Grind material defects with hand grinder or overhead grinder.
  • Coordinate pre-forging load with Blacksmith or appropriate forge personnel.
  • Load, unload, and operate furnace to maintain production schedule for forging cycles and post-forge thermal cycles in accordance with forge manual.
  • Remove scrap from the press pits, unload scrap in the appropriate dumpster according to metal type. Record weights on appropriate paperwork.
  • Repair forge tools with welder or grinder.
  • Repair furnaces, lathes, presses, saws, etc.
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs is helpful.
  • Experience with building repairs & installations is helpful.

  QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Use of common inspection tools (calipers, tape measure, etc.
  • Blueprint reading
  • Forklift Operation
  • Preventative Maintenance
  • Shop math and computer skills
  • Hand tools
  • Prior experience preferred
  • Crane rigging and operation experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs., Occasional lifting to 65 lbs. dependent on role
  • Varying temperatures in summer and winter

  We are looking for Metal Fabrication, Utility Workers, Machine Operators, Machinists, Maintenance and Production Associates. Helpful experience includes maintenance, machine operator, measurements, manufacturing, band saw, hand tools, boring, gauges, grinding, sanding, trim, maintenance, heavy equipment operator, etc. Experience with micrometers, calipers or shop math are a real plus. #1769
