  Job Description:

  3M is seeking candidates for our Production Operator role in Detroit, MI!

  • Pay Starting at $30.41
  • Shift Details: 1st Shift (6a-6:30p; M-Th) & 2nd Shift [2a-6a (M); 6p-6:30a (M-W)]

  As a Production Operator, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

  Responsibilities:

  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas
  • Perform routine 5S, housekeeping, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Operating heavy machinery and PIV’s including forklifts, hand trucks, and hoists
  • Assure compliance to plant safety, labeling, and Hazardous waste stream profiles
  • Accurately record data required for control of process, materials, and quality assurance.
  • Material handling as relates to the staging, input, and removal of raw materials, finished goods, and waste materials
  • Support of production operations including mineral, solution delivery systems, assisting with oven operation and in process web handling
  • Perform or assist with in process testing and will be required to monitor and maintain processes on target during break relief

  Required Qualifications:

  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)

  Desired Qualifications:

  • One (1) year of general labor, manufacturing, and/or construction experience
  • Prior experience using basic and specialized computer applications

  Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Moderate physical exertion required to stage input materials, load mineral, fillers, remove web from oven and cleanup after product changeovers and line shutdowns
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, using proper lifting techniques
  • Conditions include exposure to heat, fumes, dust, chemicals, noise, and bump hazards, which necessitates the wearing of specialized PPE
