Job Description

- Consistently meet quality and productivity output goals.
- Keep working areas per the 5’S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize and sustain) methodology clean and organized.
- Comprehensive understanding of all applicable MSOP’s, QCSOP’s, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and line clearance requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation per GDP (Good Documentation Practices) by filling out work orders correctly and accurately recording accepted and rejected quantities.
- Follow and understand FIFO (First In First Out) methodology.
- Listen and communicate effectively with Technicians, Leads and Supervisors about any production, quality or safety issues.
- Able to use tweezers to handle product.
- Identify and scrap defects per Zeiss quality standards.
- Ability to distinguish different lens and injector models and components.
- Able to use a microscope and understand magnification levels for visual inspection.
- Use overlay models on optical comparators to perform inspections for 1PC and 3PC.
- Ability to perform basic production process steps in the following manufacturing areas for both 1PC and 3PC: tumbling, cleanroom and packaging.
- Analyze BFL resolution and diopter measurements to evaluate IOL conformity.
- Perform SAP functions such as operation confirmations and label printing.
- Assist with preparing product for sterilization.
- Review the work order BOM (Bill of Material) to gather the required material to perform assembly, inspection and packaging operations.
- Assist with the training of production operators
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Ensure that all finished product meets quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain a production environment that complies and follows all quality standards and government regulated standards.
- Performs manufacturing process according to MSOP’s & MPI’s.
- Performs in-process inspection according to QCSOP’s & QIS.
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Two to three years manufacturing experience in the Medical Device industry is required.
- Computer knowledge of Microsoft Office programs: Outlook, Excel, Word.

Occasionally exposed to; Sodium persulfate, Polyoxyethylene (20) sorbitan monooleate, triton x. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The temperature in the environment may be cold. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 5-10 pounds. Must be able to work with small parts using tweezers. Regularly required to walk, stand, bend and twist. Vision abilities required for this job include; close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Repetitive use of hands, controlled grasping and fine manipulation. Must wear clean room protective suits or other personal protective equipment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to effectively communicate with others within and outside the organization (i.e. management, supervisors, coworkers, inspectors and auditors from various governing bodies, such as FDA auditors).
