Job Description

- Responsible for monitoring and adjusting production or purchasing using Oracle Inventory and Anaplan Demand Management systems to ensure adequate inventory levels of all responsible products
- Work with all manufacturing facilities on production schedules to ensure inventory levels within fresh date guidelines for all distribution points
- Work with the Transportation Department to ensure the timely arrival of all products into the Distribution facilities
- Develop and maintain working relationships with personnel positioned throughout each of the Boar’s Head manufacturing plants or in our vendor facilities
- Supply daily and weekly raw materials needed for Boar’s Head manufacturing sites
- Supply Family Food vendors with monthly/quarterly forecasts as requested.
- Investigate and work to resolve any inventory discrepancies
- Work with department personnel to make sure that all the inventory that is becoming too old to sell through normal channels is moved through other methods.
- Daily use of strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and computer skills (MS Excel, MS Office, MS Outlook), to reach sound, rational, and logical conclusions to support decision-making processes
- Ability to effectively meet corporate requirements and expectations for the department, including travel and early morning work hours
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Inventory, or related field, or knowledge equivalent to such a degree.
- Three (3) years’ experience in a food-related environment, preferably two (2) years in a demonstrated area of leadership, ownership, and responsibility in production planning or related areas of development
- Current knowledge of existing processes and procedures of advanced inventory management and control in a “SAP” inventory-like system, or the equivalent, demonstrated knowledge of inventory processes and procedures utilized in a food-related environment, implementing present-day management system software
- Demonstrated ability to effectively present information in clear, concise formats and to effectively communicate with all levels of management, including sales, customer service, distribution, and manufacturing.
- Experience with both Oracle Inventory and Anaplan Demand Management systems is preferred.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel
- Must have the ability to calculate and use basic math.
- Technical reasoning and analytical ability
- Must be able to sit or stand at a desk for an extended period of time.
