      Job Summary:

      The Manual Machinist will independently process production orders, fabricate tooling details, and perform prototype work and rework/repair of parts and components. In addition to production, normal daily activities and duties will include timekeeping, email, computer-based trainings, and SAP usage.

      Responsibilities to Anticipate:

      -Print reading and comprehension skills

      -Validate and check own work

      -Assigned work can cover many functions, including but not limited to:

      a) Normal Production Machining

      b) Fixtures, Tooling and Rework

      c) Deburr, sanding, and hand tool operations

      d) Inspection, problem solving, and team interaction

      -Use of all normal machining production and inspection hand tools and gages

      -Administrative tasks such as: SAP, labor recording, computer-based trainings, production data collection, email

      -Assigned equipment will involve mainly manual machining centers and Grinders:

      a) Mills (Hurco and Bridgeport)

      b) Grinders (Jones-Shipman), ID/OD and Surface Grinders

      c) Lathes (Leblonde)

      d) 6 Spindle (Allen)

      e) Lap (Lap Master), Honer, and Sunnen

      f) Bandsaw (DoAll) and hand tool operations such as drilling, tapping, chamfering, deburring, scuffing, and engraving.

      -Use of these machines can be required for tooling, fixturing, needed details, and normal production part runs as required.

      -Standing and walking for extended periods of time

      -Lifting up to 28 lbs.

      Qualifications You Must Have:

      -High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

      -6 years of Manual Machining (Mill, Lathe, Bandsaw, Drill Press)

      -5 years of ID/OD and Surface Grinding

      -Experience with inspection of machined parts, interpreting prints and work orders in addition to utilizing GD&T tolerances.

      Qualifications We Value:

      -8+ years manual machining

      -8+ years ID/OD and Surface Grinding

      -5+ years of CNC Machining

      -Able to set up and operate machining centers unsupervised on highly complex parts

      -Ability to hold tight tolerances and surfaces finishes

      -Intermediate computer skills; Email, Time Entry, Order Processing, Explorer
