- Ensure a safe work environment and safe work activity of all SAFA employees as well as contract employees.
- Conduct daily self-checks of the workplace.
- Promote SAFETY by your actions.
- Correct unsafe findings immediately.
- Ensure an environmentally safe plant for our employees and the community.
- Conduct daily self-checks of the storage areas.
- Ensure that Satellite Accumulation Areas are clean and sealed when not actively being filled.
- Clean up spills immediately and notify Management within 20 mins of finding.
- Quality pads produced.
- Ensure that all manufacturing processes are being operated according to approved Manufacturing Standards.
- Ensure that all products meet the approved Quality standards
- Quality and process improvements in the manufacturing area.
- Work to identify deficiencies in Quality and Manufacturing processes.
- Identify problems and propose suggestions for ways to improve.
- Production level and production efficiency.
- Ensure the proper level of staffing in each department.
- Call in and schedule support as necessary to cover for vacations and absences.
- Report shift performance using the OA=(Operational Availability) Method
- Report all stoppages of more than 2 hours to management.
- Ensure all Market Areas are updated correctly prior to the meetings. Morning and afternoon.
- Be prepared to explain why targets were not achieved.
- Training of manufacturing employees.
- Assign Trainer to the trainee.
- Check on status of training.
- Follow up as necessary with both trainer and trainee to ensure successful completion of training goals.
- Sign off on trainees Training Folder after observation and demonstration has shown the effectiveness of training.
- Obtain all proper signatures of acceptance of the training file prior to allowing the employee to be in control of the process or sign their names to any production and quality records.
- Reporting of scrap.
- Evaluate each areas scrap as Supervisor Patrols are being conducted.
- Look for root causes of scrap and countermeasures to reduce.
- Ensure accurate reporting of scrap by doing random sampling of areas and confirm the electronic data in DP and Scrap files.
- Upkeep of machinery, equipment, and the manufacturing facility.
- Schedule 5S activities to keep the equipment clean therefore reducing breakdowns.
- Ensure that proper cleaning is being conducted during Preventative Maintenance.
- Coordinate cleaning activity in respective areas.
- Ensure that the areas in general are free from hazards that may accumulate on floors. Examples would be buildup of dust. Pallets not stored in neat order or stored to close to equipment.
- Must include common areas such as racks, hand washing stations etc.
- Assist Lead Operators in trouble shooting and production matters.
- Give necessary support to Lead Operators to reduce down time and keep product flowing
- Assist Managers and Engineers in trials and production matters
- Be aware of product trials.
- Ensure proper levels of manpower to support trials or special need items.
- Evaluate maintenance priority and needs during shift and communicate to maintenance.
- Monitor radio communication to stay current on plant floor condition.
- Assign Maintenance personnel by priority to keep key processes running.
- Complete Supervisor Patrol
- Use the Supervisor Patrol to check each area of the plant.
- Notify Management immediately on issues that arise, employee issues, scrap issues, production issues.
- Daily communication
- Hold daily meetings with Lead Operators to discuss issues on the floor and to communicate changes.
- Maintain a log with minutes from these meetings.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
Associate degree or higher in business or leadership (Preferred). With 5-10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment. A combination of education and related experience will be considered. The following skills and experience are needed to be a successful supervisor:
