      Production Supervisor - BB

      Fenner Dunlop is looking for an enthusiastic Production Supervisor to join our Bracebridge, Ontario manufacturing team. You will be responsible for providing supervision of production employees and ensuring proper staffing levels in assigned work areas as well as maintaining quality control procedures. This position reports to the Plant Manager.

      Fenner Dunlop designs and manufactures the widest range of bulk material handling conveyor belts in the world. We strive to be the premier provider of the safest and most reliable conveyor belting and services to a variety of heavy industrial markets such as coal mining, hard rock mining, sand, gravel, wood handling, power generation, pulp and paper. Fenner Dunlop provides North American made belting, manufactured at our facilities located throughout the United States and Canada.

      For over 150 years, Fenner Dunlop has researched, designed, developed, manufactured, and tested its conveyor belting products, supporting nearly any type of conveyor application, and providing the right solutions to protect conveyor system investments in the harshest conveying environments.

      What You’ll Do

      PRODUCTION SUPERVISION

      Direct, lead, and supervise all production processes and employees, ensuring compliance to safety, quality and productivity standards for a shift including ~15 employees.

      • Establish and communicate performance objectives and expectations for the department and hold employees accountable through the performance and development review process.
      • Inspect production to ensure that quality control standards are being met, assist in developing quality guidelines, and ensure inspection forms are being completed.
      • Conduct and maintain a weekly inventory of all departmental supply items and orders and assist in all inventory audits.
      • Monitor assigned areas in the plant ensuring work areas are kept to plant 5S or local cleanliness standards and inspect the condition of the plant outside of the building to ensure that the facility is maintained properly.
      • Monitor and correct ERP entries, produce job travelers along with job receipt to inventory or to ensure prompt shipment of product.
      • Identify shift training needs and ensure employee cross training is completed.
      • Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed and employees use appropriate safety equipment.
      • Ensure proper PPE use for all direct reports, and conduct a pre-determined number of safety meetings each month.
      • Management of shift attendance; documenting employee absence, communication of the attendance policy and disciplinary activities related to noncompliance.
      • Responsible for coaching and employee disciplinary activities related to , but not exclusive to, time and attendance issues, productivity & efficiency concerns, data errors, quality noncompliance, safety noncompliance, general policy and procedure noncompliance.
      • Prepare and manage Continuous Improvement activities; developing improvement projects, implementing projects and reporting results (productivity, scrap, cost savings, etc.)
      • Function as a change agent and continuously challenge the way processes are done.

      What You’ll Need

      • Minimum of two years of supervisor experience in a manufacturing setting.
      • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and/or holidays. (8-hour shift MAD rotation, Monday to Friday)
      • Willingness to stand, squat, and/or work in confined spaces.
      • Capable of being flexible and adaptable.
      • Must possess valid driver's license.

      Schedule

      • 8 hour shift MAD rotation, Monday to Friday
