Job Description

- Supervise direct reports, evaluate performance, pay, promotions, and other employment related decisions.
- Manage disciplinary issues, conflict resolution per SEH policy and legal requirements. Consistently and fairly apply company policy. Keep information confidential, as appropriate. Act as a role model for teams and individuals.
- Ensure staffing levels are adequate to meet manufacturing goals. Coordinate the hiring of new operators and ensure the availability of resources needed for operator skill acquisition and timely certification.
- Ensure a safe work environment. Communicate safety standards to production workers. Identify unsafe conditions and acts, enforcing all relevant state/federal laws and company policies. Investigate safety incidents.
- Measure and evaluate production output and recognize the opportunity for yield improvement.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and improve manufacturing processes where necessary.
- Work with various personnel to complete production objectives; management, engineering, maintenance, support, etc.
- Understand, follow, and maintain complex standard work procedures, conditions, instructions. Ensure work related procedure documentation is up to date and direct reports are trained.
- Implement and utilizes the 5S disciplines in department and participate in all continuous improvement programs by offering suggestions and by exhibiting initiative in areas within direct control.
- Work with Japanese contacts to complete various projects.
- This is an exempt (salaried) position. Must be available for situations that may arise outside of standard working hours.
- Other projects and tasks as assigned.
- At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing process demonstrating leadership skills and potential.
- Training and/or experience working with high performance work teams demonstrating skills in group facilitation, problem solving, conflict resolution, and communication.
- Good writing skills and a demonstrated ability to create accurate reports combining data and written information.
- Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated planning and organizational skills appropriate to a multi-task manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present information and effectively interact with all levels of company personnel.
- Proven ability to act as a role model for other employees, characteristics include (but are not limited to), good work ethic, quality driven, dependable/reliable, team oriented, respectful of others and company policies and procedures.
- Able and willing to work in a 24/7 manufacturing area. Supervisory duties require weekend work when needed.
- Formal education or training in an engineering or technical field (Military experience included).
- Experience leading a production staff at SEH (includes Team Lead, Shift Coordinator, Group Lead roles).
