Scope of Responsibilities

Group 2 - Packer (starting pay $22.01/hr) is primarily responsible for variety of basic production work. This work may involve any or all of such activities as packing, marking, box or bag forming, machine feeding, labeling, table work (rework), palletizing, cleaning or other production or finishing work of the like nature, quality adjustments, qualify checks, sealing, palletizing, product dumping, routine maintenance, cleaning and other production work of like nature. Participates in LPW activities such as maintaining PCS, 5S and/or AM (Cleaning, Inspection, Lubrication and Auditing) as well as improvement team participation.

-Weight lifting requirements 50lbs.

• Responsible for the successful operations of the production of Ghirardelli product
• Strives for continuous improvement in quality, safety, schedule adherence, costs, and waste
• Ability to problem solve and resolve production opportunities or down lines
• Raise appropriate production issues to supervisor
• Participate in departmental and corporate projects
• Must maintain regular and prompt attendance.
• May include other tasks or projects as assigned
• Must have the ability to lift 50lbs

Education and Work Experience:

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
• Preferred 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Basic computer skills required
• Previous experience working with automated machinery preferred
• Previous experience or exposure to Lean Manufacturing tools

Working Conditions:

• Works in a unionized food manufacturing environment
• Available to start on graveyard shift. May be eligible to be placed on another shift when required seniority is achieved.
• Available to work required overtime as needed before or after regular shift (overtime assignments are 4 hours in addition to the regular 8 hour shift).
• Available to work required overtime as needed on weekends.

Starting Pay: $22.01/hour*

*Machine Operator Positions Available (step pay range $23.28-$27.18, depending on the position) – after initial time as a Buk Operator. New hire may be eligible to be placed into an unsigned/open bid job or sign for a posted open bid at the higher pay rate. Bid holder & back-up bid positions are available.
