      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Evaluate health record documentation and charges to optimize reimbursement
      - Accurately assign and sequence ICD-10 CM, HCPCS, and CPT codes based on medical information
      - Ensure data compliance with regulatory and coding guidelines
      - Review diseases, symptoms, diagnostic descriptions, and procedures for correct coding
      - Adhere to quality and productivity standards set by the department

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Successful completion or enrollment in a medical coding program
      - Completed coursework in ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, CPT codes, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and disease process
      - Passing score on the coding skills assessment test
      - Applicable credentialing required within 2 years of employment/date of hire

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
      - Previous experience in medical coding or related field
