      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Review documentation for professional charges involving ancillary, E/M, and/or bedside/clinical procedures
      - Ensure accuracy of diagnosis and procedure codes within charge review and error follow-up processes
      - Utilize computer-aided coding software to analyze coding edits and facilitate compliant coding
      - Complete work queues in the electronic health record system to resolve edits proactively
      - Communicate with various ambulatory areas of the organization to facilitate provider education and revenue integrity

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - High school education or equivalent
      - Completion of accredited coursework for coding certificate with current credentialing as CCS, CPC, CPC-A, or CIC, or completion of an AHIMA accredited HIM program with current credentialing as RHIA or RHIT
      - Demonstrated analytical abilities to identify and comprehend opportunities for coding
      - Knowledge in PC-based applications, specifically an encoder
      - Effective verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of coding guidelines

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Prior coding experience in an acute care facility
      - Credentialing as CPC or RHIT
      - Knowledge of ICD, CCI, OCE, NCD, LCD, and CPT coding guidelines
      - Familiarity with state/federal rules and regulations pertaining to healthcare coding
