Since our charter in 1970, we have made home possible for more than 90 million families across the country. Join an organization where your work contributes to a greater purpose.

      Position Overview:

Freddie Mac Multifamily is seeking a Professional Digital Product Designer who is eager to be at the forefront of advancing our design practice. At Freddie Mac, you will play a crucial role in building a better housing finance system. You’ll be part of a team dedicated to making homeownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable across the nation.

The Freddie Mac Multifamily UX Team is looking for a Designer who is not content with the status quo. We need individuals who ask tough questions, think critically, and take bold actions to get things done. If you have a growth mindset, solve problems through design, and thrive at the intersection of people and technology, we encourage you to apply today!

      Our Impact:

The Multifamily UX team is more than just design. We are a trusted partner in our agile product development environment, responsible for Research, UX Design, UI Design, and Information Architecture. We ensure that the design of our technical solutions represent and meet the needs of our users by gaining a true appreciation for their needs and by putting them at the center of our decision making process. The team provides thought leadership and ideas, as well as concepts through research readouts, workflows, wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, (and more!) and strives for evidence based decisioning, testing with users early and often. Together, we influence the direction, prioritization, and development within our technology organization.

      • We work with our business and technology partners to deliver successful product outcomes, using a methodical human-centered design approach.

      • We provide research, analysis, and design support for a robust portfolio of enterprise applications, identifying key opportunities to deliver value and reduce risk.

      • We ensure our customer experiences are as thoughtful, effortless, and enjoyable as possible.

      Your Impact:

      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, developers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and user needs.

      • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web and mobile applications that align with modern industry standards.

      • Participate in user research activities, such as usability testing, interviews, and surveys, to gather insights and refine design solutions.

      • Contribute and ensure designs are in line with our Freddie Mac Design System and industry standard methodologies.

      • Stay updated with the latest UX design trends, tools, and techniques relevant to the financial industry.

      • Present design concepts and solutions to stakeholders and gather feedback for iterative improvement.

      • Own a solution from start to finish – from managing partners, to gaining alignment, to supporting product teams.

      Qualifications:

      • 3-5 years of proven experience building digital products.

      • Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Product Design, or equivalent work experience.

      • Understand the application and implementation of the Design Thinking methodology.

      • Experience in usability testing, ensuring customer feedback is incorporated into future design increments. Experience in ethnographic research is a plus.

      • Proficient in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or equivalent. (Figma experience preferred.)

      • Experience working within Agile product teams.

      • Portfolio showcasing relevant academic or personal projects.

Keys to Success in this Role:

      • Ability to translate user needs into intuitive and functional designs.

      • Good interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

      • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

      • Self-starter and self-motivated. Ability to work & collaborate effectively in a team environment.
