What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review medical records and assign/verify appropriate CPT and ICD-9 codes in compliance with regulations and guidelines
- Serve as a resource for physicians regarding code assignment and required documentation policies
- Ensure timely processing of coding assignments and maintain confidentiality of protected health information
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to clarify coding information and documentation requirements
- Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently while collaborating with team members

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma required
- Coding Certification (CPC, CPC-H, CCS, CCS-P) required
- At least 1 year of experience coding Evaluation and Management services required
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, and coding systems (ICD9-CM, ICD10-CM/PCS & CPT)
- Strong verbal, written, and computer communication skills

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in surgical specialty coding
- Familiarity with medical coding and billing systems and regulatory requirements
- Ability to prioritize workload effectively and demonstrate attention to detail
- Experience working in a team environment and ability to work autonomously
