      Status: Part Time

      Hours: Monday to Friday; between 8:00am and 10:00pm

      Home Campus: Fennell

      Rate of Pay: Commensurate upon qualifications and experience

      Job Summary

      We are looking for qualified professionals to teach part-time in our Graphic Design program at our Fennell Campus.

      We are looking to hire for the following courses:

      • Graphic Design Fundamentals
      • Specialized Print Design 1
      • Visual Web Design 1
      • User Experience 1 (UX 1)
      • User Interface 1 (UI 1)

      Start date: Fall, Winter, Spring semester (courses may run Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 10:00pm)

      Qualifications:

      The successful applicant will have:

      • Relevant educational qualifications: a degree or equivalent experience in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a closely related field.
      • Five (5) years industry related experience in their teaching field.
      • Prior post – secondary teaching experience preferred.
      • Highly proficient with recent hands-on experience using related Adobe Creative Cloud Software
      • Excellent communication and human relations skills and a commitment to diversity and equity are essential. Ability to work in an environment where a diversity of people and situations are encountered.
      • Ability to convey the conceptual and practical aspects of subjects to students, respecting their diverse backgrounds, experience and individual learning styles is also essential, as is the desire to contribute to the education of the next generation of apprentices.
      • Prior experience using technology (ie. LMS, online teaching, etc.).
      • Candidates must also be committed to working within a team environment and to participating in a consultative decision-making process.

      Part time faculty positions are part of Mohawk College’s response to the Calls to Action in Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Report, and as part of our commitment to our Indigenous Education and Initiatives Plan, preference will be given to Indigenous Peoples or Peoples of Turtle Island, including those who identify as First Nations (status or non-status), Metis & Inuit.

      Candidates should have experience and knowledge of Indigenous education, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and EDI in curriculum/program development, teaching and learning.
