    • A desire to work with pre-school age students and help them grow socially and academically.
    • Ability to perform the following physical activities: stoop, run, sit, stand, walk, bend, lift children, carry thirty (30) pounds, be outside in all seasons, be inside, prepare food, hear within normal ranges, and see within normal ranges.
    • Provide own transportation.
    • Ability to work with and relate to young children and families of diverse backgrounds.
    • Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, the Child Abuse Registry and PDE FBI.
    • Help children develop self-help skills by actively participating in all phases of mealtime activities and toileting.
    • Assist with meal preparation and classroom operation.
    • Provide a safe and healthy environment.
    • Help prepare for, participate in, and clean up after an activity.
    • Assist children to participate in daily activities and gain independent skills aligned with the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards.
    • Contribute to daily and weekly classroom planning.
    • Work cooperatively with an attitude of support as a member of the classroom team.
    • Participate in activities planned for parents and promote community connections.
    • Adhere to and implement MCIU policies, procedures and directives.
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

    • A vacancy exists for a Program Aide – PreK Counts to work within the Office of Early Childhood Services – PreK Counts at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit! This part-time position serves students ages 3-5 years old.

      Qualifications:

      The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit PreK Counts program has classrooms located throughout Montgomery County, PA.       • Early Learning Academy (1605 W Main St Norristown, PA)

      Work Schedule:
      Monday-Friday, up to 6 hours/day, 10 months (180 days/year)

      Hourly Rate:
      $15.02/hour
