      What we want

      The Program Coordinator for the Career Management Center (CMC) assists with the planning, administration, and implementation of career programs and career services for the Career Management Center (CMC) and Mays graduate students. We're seeking a leader with an enthusiasm and passion for assisting graduate students and serve as a resource for the staff of the CMC in supporting students' career and professional development needs.

      What you need to know

      Salary : $45,000 (Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience).

      Essential Duties/Tasks

      Career Support

      • Support individual and affinity groups of MBA and specialized Master students with their career development growth.

      • Coordinate student progress by reviewing, assessing, and providing constructive feedback on progress and actions in relevant career development areas.

      • Work with students by guiding, critiquing, and revising multiple forms of written & verbal communication.

      • Coach students in resume/cover letter/LinkedIn profile development, interview preparation, networking skills, professional presence, elevator pitch, personal brand development, and other graduate career development areas.

      • Support students by engaging in continuous touch-point to ensure student stays on track for career and job search progression.

      Career Program Operations

      • Maintain thorough advising activity tracking records and coordinate/report status, progress, and potential issues to CMC Program Directors.

      • Conduct ongoing and recurring career program operation activities to include compiling and distributing resume books, administering relevant employment websites, preparing employer materials, and other operational and administrative tasks as assigned.

      • Track and organize student data and engagement

      Career Center & Student Staff Operations

      • Support CMC team with ongoing operations, event planning, event management and employer engagement activities as requested.

      • Delegate and oversee work for CMC student worker staff.

      Qualifications

      Required Education and Experience:

      • Bachelor’s degree in human resource development, business management, other related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

      • 2 years of related experience.

      Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Knowledge of career planning and career management skills.

      • Ability to transfer and communicate technical skills in business language/terms.

      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

      • Effective analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

      • Knowledge and/or comfort with standard office tools, MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Web based tools.

      • Presentation and training skills.

      • Ability to lift and move light to medium weight objects.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Master's degree in higher education administration, student affairs administration in higher education.

      • Experience in talent acquisition roles, career coaching, or career development.

      • Experience in business or project management, corporate training and/or consulting/advisory roles.

      • Experience in higher education student activities or administration.

      • Experience working with business professionals.
