Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of experience in higher education, office administration or program coordination.
Working knowledge of spreadsheet, presentation and word processing software programs.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to plan and organize effectively.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Experience working with individuals and communities.
Experience managing and/or coordinating delivery of medical curriculum.
Experience in health services and/or pre-clerkship medical education.
Experience with learning management system--eCampus and/or Canvas.
Experience working with individuals and communities in a higher education setting.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, FAMIS, CANOPY, AggieBuy, Maestro, and Concur.
Knowledge of program and institutional accreditation requirements.
Knowledge of undergraduate medical education programs.
Pre-Clerkship Coordination - Coordinates all course information and scheduling for the assigned courses. This includes: Arranging room reservations/scheduling Zoom sessions; Coordinating proctors and rooms/Zoom sessions for examinations; Maintaining the learning management system; Preparing for and leading the course initiation meetings. Serves as primary administrative liaison with faculty regarding course scheduling. Coordinates with the Office of Academic Technology, Marketing, and Communication for support related to course sessions, exams, and trainings.
Curriculum Management - Collaborates with coordinators and course leadership to coordinate and disseminate course materials required of curricular blocks, threads, clerkships and electives within COM's undergraduate medical education program (UME). Administers curriculum in an a-learning environment utilizing a learning management system application as well as additional required software applications. Manages the learning management system for the assigned courses.
Communication and Team Cooperation - Attends meetings related to Pre-Clerkship: site specific coordinator meeting (required), all sites coordinator meeting (required), Pre-Clerkship Subcommittee meeting (as needed), Curriculum Committee meeting (as needed). Initiates investigation of student and Pre-Clerkship faculty concerns, identifies problems, recommends solutions to Pre-Clerkship Program Manager and/or Pre-Clerkship Assistant Dean. Works collaboratively and cooperatively with other Pre-Clerkship coordinators, faculty, and staff.
Accreditation - Maintains and coordinates data required to comply with institutional program and accreditation requirements in a timely manner. Assists the Office of Evaluation and Assessment in the mapping of curriculum content for assigned courses. Assists the Office of Evaluation and Assessment in the tracking of faculty contact hours and compiling into the specified format.
Policies & Procedures - Performs all tasks and job responsibilities safely without injury to self and others in compliance with A&M System and HSC guidelines. Maintains strict confidentiality with regards to exams, quizzes, and planning information prior to implementation. Understands and possesses knowledge of Undergraduate Medical Education policies and procedures, as well as the Medical Student Handbook. Undertakes special tasks and projects as assigned by Pre-Clerkship Program Manager and/or the Pre-Clerkship Assistant Dean.

The Intercollegiate School of Engineering Medicine (EnMed) is a tripartite collaboration between Texas A&M’s College of Engineering, College of Medicine and the state’s top-ranked Houston Methodist Hospital established to transform healthcare through translational interdisciplinary research, the development of medical technologies, and the development and training of “Physicianeers.” The EnMed Physicianeer is a new kind of problem-solving doctor uniquely qualified to address some of healthcare’s greatest challenges.
