      Job Description

      This position may pay more than the minimum proposed salary listed above, depending on experience and/or qualifications of the selected candidate.

      The Program Coordinator II plans and coordinates logistics related to workshops, conferences, orientations, and events, and facilitates the production of student surveys and access to additional resources and services for students. Second, the Program Coordinator II manages the unit’s marketing efforts, collaborates with student organizations, and supports the unit by preparing requisite reports, establishing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders such as alumni, industry leaders, and community members, and collaborates closely with faculty, staff, and students to ensure initiatives are implemented and carried out efficiently and professionally.

      Responsibilities:

      • Plans and promotes graduate student professional development activities, resources, and services.

      • Attends and supports departmental orientations.

      • Ensures constant communication with graduate students including but not limited to utilizing email, social media, and virtual and in person meetings.

      • Develops and updates training materials and delivers training.

      • Maintains Office of Graduate Studies social media platforms and website.

      • Oversees daily fiscal and purchasing activities, and assists in preparation and monitoring of budgets for programs and events.

      • Plans, implements and evaluates programs.

      • Assists in establishing goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.

      • Prepares reports on program activities.

      • Develops and maintains relationships with stakeholders.

      • Performs other duties as assigned.


      Required Education and Experience:

      • Bachelor’s degree.

      • Four years of related experience.

      Required Certification(s)/Licensure(s):

      • Valid Texas driver’s license.

      Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

      • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

      • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

      • Effective interpersonal skills for building relationships and conflict resolution skills.

      • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

      • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

      • Efficient time management and ability to meet deadlines.

      • Strong decision-making and delegation skills.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in one or more of the following: professional development and training for graduate students; assessment and accountability of program outcomes; design and conduct trainings, conferences, and educational workshops in higher education. Ability to lead and motivate a team.
