- Manage and coordinate complex projects and provide high-level support to the leadership team.
- Compose correspondence replies on own initiative, interpreting and explaining established policy and procedure in response to inquiries from a variety of sources.
- Investigate, evaluate, and resolve problems within scope of position.
- Implement new policies, procedures or practices impacted by decisions made by supervisor at meetings and conferences.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating department website.
- Process business transactions through the UAccess systems, including but not limited to, procurement of supplies and PCard purchases.
- Maintain and reconcile expenses for departmental account.
- Monitor expenditures and performs simple analysis on accounts.
- Prepare both special and recurring reports for supervisor and authorizes payments within prescribed limits.
- Manage and track external business invoices (Banner billing, SQL billing).
- Support the operations of the department by providing administrative support to the Associate Vice President, managers, and admins
- Prepare or direct preparation of minutes, notices, manuals, agendas, and correspondence with all supporting documentation, requiring application of a specialized knowledge of the assigned function.
- Represent the CATS Research Center in public relations/liaison capacity on matters relating to events.
- Ensure the timely and accurate information flow to and from the CATS Research Center, via all types (correspondence, websites, newsletters, conferences, retreats, etc.).
- Management of Clinical Research Professionals activities (Listserv, tracking of on-boarding and off-boarding of staff, training, and immunizations).
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume, dynamic team environment with changing priorities in a manner that is effective and efficient.
- Self-motivated, takes initiative, and a strong ability to multi-task multiple projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and significant attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to interact professionally and effectively with investigators, sponsors, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues with a positive outcome.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Three (3) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of university and sponsor agency policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of a clinical trial.
- Experience with UA systems, specifically UAccess Research.
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office.

The University of Arizona Health Sciences (UAHS) Clinical and Translational Sciences Research Center (CATS) is looking for a program coordinator to work closely with colleagues in a fast-paced environment. This position will offer ample opportunity to learn about the world of human subject clinical research. The position will work closely with the Associate Vice President, Sr. Manager, and staff of the research center.
CATS provides concierge-level service to all UAHS investigators in support of human subjects clinical trials. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a team environment with a strong customer service focus and to play a part in facilitating the groundbreaking research occurring every day at the University of Arizona.
A successful candidate is responsible for providing program and administrative support including communicating with internal and external stakeholders, preparing documents and reports, collaboration on special projects, compiling records, scheduling meetings, organizing, and maintaining information, website management, composing correspondence and other documents, and analyzing data.
