Major Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee the online EdD Educational Leadership program.
-
Supervise and evaluate the performance of faculty and adjuncts of the program.

Teach in the EdD Educational Leadership program.
-
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the EdD Educational Leadership program through an Annual Academic Program Review.
-
Administer the academic, personnel, recruitment, and administrative life of the program.
-
Engage in recruiting and marketing the program to relevant audiences (school districts, regional education service centers, and charter schools).
-
Utilize data to inform practice in pedagogy, student engagement, student achievement, and alignment to standards for Texas Educators.
-
Serve in the dissertation process as chair or committee member for 6 students.
-
Advise students toward the completion of their program.

Lead and oversee the CGPS EdD Educational Leadership program.

Lead the faculty in developing plans to further the purpose, mission, vision, and goals of the program.

Chair regular meetings of faculty, adjuncts, and students for the purpose of conducting the academic and co-curricular affairs of the program.
-
Build a spirit of teamwork and collegiality among the faculty, adjuncts, and students in the program.

Collaborate with various university departments, as applicable
-
Ensure current and relevant curriculum development and updates as needed.
-
Collaborate in the creation and development of an embedded dissertation process for students in the program.
-

Supervise and evaluate the performance of program faculty
-
Monitor all program courses to ensure continuity of service to students and engagement of faculty within program courses.
-
Monitor all program courses to determine faculty effectiveness and adherence to CGPS and university policies
-
Evaluate faculty on an annual basis according to performance metrics established by the program to determine salary reviews, promotions, and/or contract continuation.
-
Provide remediation or coaching to increase the performance of faculty as needed or as required (if the faculty member is on a performance plan).

Recruit, onboard, hire, and terminate faculty as needed.

Teach in the EdD Educational Leadership program
-
Administer and provide instruction in assigned courses. Duties include, but are not limited to, conducting periodic synchronous interaction sessions, facilitating and grading all assignments in a timely manner, and providing rich and timely feedback on student work. Provide timely and helpful answers to students’ inquiries regarding course material or academic matters.

Monitor and evaluate the program annually as part of the Annual Academic Program Review

Direct the annual process of evaluating and developing the programs’ purpose, mission, vision, and other strategic plans.
-
Work with faculty and adjuncts to develop annual program performance goals.
-
Review program metrics and analyze other data to address trends, strengths, challenges, and opportunities.
-
Participate in an annual program review and meet with the Dean for an annual review of the strategy and direction of the program (past performance and future direction).

Administer the academic and administrative life of the program
-
Serve on the ACU Dallas Academic Council for participation in shared governance and representation of the programs’ academic concerns.
-
Oversee the process of reviewing student applications to the program and make final decisions regarding admission.
-
Oversee the revision and development of the curriculum and research agenda.
-
Collaborate in a vertical and horizontal mission and goal alignment of the college programs.
-
Supervise the collection and analysis of data related to program outcomes and student learning outcomes (Outcome Assessment Reports).
-
Cooperate with ACU Marketing to develop and maintain an ongoing program of alumni relations through the online alumni community.
-
Prepare program publications and other correspondence, as needed.
-
Facilitate regular meetings of faculty and adjuncts.
-
Serve on various CGPS committees as required by the Dean. May also be appointed to various university committees for service as well.

Recruit and market the EdD Educational Leadership program to organizations with education-related opportunities
-
Stay abreast of current industry trends and adjust program offerings as applicable.
-
Market the EdD Educational Leadership program to relevant audiences (e.g. school districts, regional Education Service Centers, and charter schools).
-
Identify and develop markets for recruitment of students and maintain relationships with those organizations, institutions, and outlets.
-
Attend networking events in education-related industries.
-

Utilize data to inform practice in current pedagogical approaches, as well as engagement and achievement of students that align with industry standards, including the Educators' Code of Ethics set forth in the Texas Administrative Code

Ensure that program content addresses areas such as SEL, trauma-informed practices, digital pedagogy, and other approaches that address the needs of students in the education landscape.

Ensure that faculty utilize effective practices that engage students in active learning and assist them in achieving outcomes.
-
Ensure that faculty are prepared in the use of pedagogical technologies that will create approaches that impact learning.

Serve on student dissertation committees

Serve on 4 dissertation committees as chair.

Serve on 2 dissertation committees as a committee member.

Advise students toward the completion of their degrees

Oversee the degree plans.
-
Ensure students make progress on their Degree Time Limit and complete their dissertation on time.

Coordinate with Student Success Advisors in monitoring and addressing the needs of students.

Ph.D. or an Ed.D. or other terminal degree in an education-related discipline
-
Teaching experience or administrative experience in higher education is preferred.
-
Demonstrated experience in a post-pandemic learning culture, urban schools, Title I, teacher development, and innovative program implementation experience.
-
Relevant research completed in the last ten years [e.g. publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations, program evaluation reports, etc.], is preferred.

Experience teaching, designing, and developing online coursework.
-
Computer literate in software and internet-based applications.

Faculty Position Information Necessary Criteria: The Program Director must have a Ph.D. or an Ed.D. or other terminal degree in an education-related discipline. S/he must demonstrate effective leadership skills, and knowledge of current practices in education, post-pandemic learning culture, urban schools, Title I experience, teacher development, and innovative program implementation experience.
Doctoral - 12 credit hours (4 courses annually)
Full-time Faculty Workload Expectations
Doctoral - Teaching (35%); Service (50%); Research (15%)
