      ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW

      East Bay Agency for Children’s (EBAC) mission is to improve the well-being of children, youth, and families by reducing the impact of trauma and social inequities. EBAC strives to reduce barriers that contribute to disparities in wellness for socio-economically disadvantaged and racially marginalized families and to create communities where all children and families have support systems to reach their full potential.

      EBAC was established in 1952 when a group of parents of children with autism wanted to give their children the same educational and recreational opportunities that contribute to the physical well-being and social growth of all children. From this was born the first day-treatment program west of the Mississippi and was the foundation of growth in meeting the needs of children and families living in the San Francisco Bay Area, and especially in Alameda County.

      Today, EBAC’s programs serve over 10,000 children, youth and families throughout Alameda County each year with the goal of giving each child and family the specific resources, skills, and support they need to help them reach their full potential.       POSITION OVERVIEW

      Reporting to the Senior Director of Learning and Impact Division (LID), the LID Program Director is a highly relational, strategic thinker and collaborative leader who supports the overall mission of the organization. The LID Program Director has three distinct roles: oversight of the practicum and workforce programming; management of multiple training related contracts and the development and facilitation of trauma-informed, culturally responsive curriculum to EBAC and agency partners. Within these three roles, the LID Program Director will support the strategic visibility of training curriculum, maintain and expand stakeholder relationships and partnerships and supervise the Practicum Program Supervisor.

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      1. Advanced Academic Experience: Possess a valid California Board of Behavioral Sciences/Board of Psychology Clinical License for a minimum of two years.
      2. Content Specific Expertise and Experience: Expertise in trauma-informed care, systems theory and change, process improvement initiatives, organizational development, and/or adult learning and knowledge transfer practices. Demonstrated ability to be a positive and effective trainer and develop training material that supports the implementation of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices. Demonstrated expertise in providing supervision in community mental health and leading programming that supports social work standards.
      3. Facilitation & Training Skills: Must have at least 2 years of experience providing culturally-responsive training services in the form of large and small group settings. Must also have the ability to train large groups independently both in person and virtually.
      4. Relational Skills: Must be self-reflective & relational. Ability to effectively partner with community providers, consumers, experts, and civil service personnel across a diverse regional and disciplinary spectrum. Demonstrated understanding of societal racism and its impact on health disparities, systems and relationships. Work collaboratively with staff and colleagues to achieve organizational goals.
      5. Leadership Skills: Demonstrates ability to be a positive and effective leader, coach, and support to agency teams and other partners in applying practices of trauma-informed care in all aspects of their work. Must be able to lead and manage assigned projects.
      6. Organizational Skills: Demonstrates ability to respond quickly and communicate calmly in an ever-changing environment. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently. Excellent organizational, communication, and facilitation skills. Strong computer skills, specifically in Excel, Zoom, and Word and the ability to create PowerPoint presentations. Experience with Google Drive and related applications is necessary. Must also demonstrate some skill in reviewing/analyzing data and impact.
      7. Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the demonstrated ability to research, assimilate and analyze information, compose documents, and present data in a clear and concise manner to appropriate personnel, including the ability to effectively present information to different audiences. Language skills that include the ability to: create and write curricula, write routine reports, distill promising practices into sustainable knowledge transfer documents or digital publications; produce professional correspondence, and field notes; speak effectively before groups of organizational leaders, professionals, potential volunteers or administrators.

      RESPONSIBILITIES

      1. In partnership with the Senior Director, implement a program design in accordance with the agency’s Strategic Plan and Theory of Change.
      2. Lead curriculum development that supports system wide implementation of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices and facilitate training as needed.
      3. Utilize data and feedback to inform continuous improvement of training and service outcomes.
      4. Manage contract completion and provide monthly updates to the Senior Director.
      5. Develop shared goals with partners and oversee collaborative relationships with partners and funders.
      6. Ensure high quality documentation and compliance with Title IV-E standards; Lead the implementation of contract monitoring
      7. Ensure program compliance with requirements of contracts, regulation, accreditation and other agency policy.
      8. Oversee and support the recruitment, hiring and on-boarding of team staff
      9. Support the implementation of evidenced based and promising practices in collaboration with program leadership.
      10. Participate in the Alameda County CANS collaborative and support ongoing quality improvement within the agency.
      11. Participate in individual, agency-wide, or division-specific initiatives to advance systems change through political action or advocacy.
      12. Leadership of workforce development initiatives such as the agency practicum and apprenticeship program.

      WORKING CONDITIONS and JOB SETTING

      1. Work is in varied program locations, observing intern integration into programming.
      2. Primary work is in challenging, under-resourced school settings, in neighborhoods impacted by poverty, community violence, crime, systemic racism and oppression.
      3. May need to use child-size chairs for sitting.
      4. Regular driving is required.
      5. Periodic lifting up to 25 pounds is required.
