      Your Role and Responsibilities

      As Program Director, Product Marketing, Databases, Data and AI, this individual will drive product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies for a significant portfolio of products within the Data platform of software products, specific to our databases business. The portfolio is responsible for energizing a large install base of trusted solutions, driving robust cross-sell and upsell-motions, tapping into IBM’s ecosystem and driving new client acquisition targets.

      As the manager of Databases Product Marketing, this individual will lead a team of product marketing professionals, working closely with product management, sales, and other key stakeholders to develop the marketing strategy and execute against key goals to drive business growth. The Databases business covers technologies such as Db2, Netezza, Informix, databases for System z customers, high-growth OEM databases and related technologies in data management and cloud databases market. Strong candidates will be able to form and meet KPIs against revenue, pipeline, and marketing contribution.

      • Collaborate across the marketing function to connect demand generation, product, content, ABM, and event marketing plans with sales teams to generate and progress pipeline, attract new clients, and increase client loyalty and retention.
      • Coach for confidence and build a team of strategic business leaders.

      Required Technical and Professional Expertise

      General / Leadership
      • Proven strong leader, able to think strategically and have a hands-on management style
      • Learning mindset with the ability to quickly become a subject matter expert in Data and AI and database technologies.
      • Excellent judgment based on data, business/marketing acumen, and expert resources
      • Team player who thrives on breakthrough thinking and creativity
      • Exceptional collaboration, cultural sensitivity, and matrix management skills
      • Track record of building, developing, motivating, and managing high-performance teams
      • Strong organizational and operational skills, very comfortable with performance metrics
      • 8+ years of experience in b2b tech marketing.

      Marketing and Communications Discipline
      • Strong business acumen and ability to build and implement marketing business plans
      • Strong Product Marketing/Communications experience and skills to lead teams that can: Identify and size buyer audiences, Build go-to-market architectures, Understand persona and buyer journey mapping, Create product/portfolio/ messaging and content, Launch major market moments, bringing offerings to market, Support sales routes with product/portfolio deliverables & Develop marketing and communications strategies and editorial calendars.
      • Established ability to articulate product vision and strategy based on a complete understanding of customer and market needs (current and future)
      • Strong ability to express (verbally and written) market category points of view, product value propositions, and clear differentiation from competitors
      • Background developing analyst and PR programs to drive awareness and visibility to both thought leadership and data-driven insights

      Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

      • Success in fast growth enterprise and SaaS solutions serving a worldwide customer base
      • People management experience
      • Data and AI technology market experience
      • Strong understanding of inbound, outbound & "land and expand" marketing strategies
      • Content, digital, and/or field marketing experience
      • Product Management, Technical and/or Technical Sales skills
      • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree

      The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
