      Multnomah Educators Rising is a regional partnership dedicated to diversifying the local education workforce. Program: Multnomah Educators Rising Reports To: Sr. Program Administrator Classification/Range: Confidential/ADM09 Days per Year: 240 POSITION PURPOSE: Serve as an integral member of the Multnomah Educators Rising program team, helping to lead a regional Grow Your Own initiative focused on developing and supporting a more diverse education workforce. Recruit, mentor, and support diverse paraeducators and community members to assist them in becoming licensed educators in Multnomah County public schools. Help individuals identify the best path to certification, navigate the application and financial aid process, overcome academic and personal barriers to degree completion, fulfill licensure requirements, and secure a position in a local district. Engage directly with educator preparation programs at local colleges and universities to support students, identify barriers, and improve degree pathways. Provide ongoing career mentorship and support to help individuals thrive in their early teaching careers. Develop and maintain complex collaborative working relationships with K-12, higher education, and community partners. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Apply expertise and mastery of teaching careers and pathways in order to advise, coach, mentor, and advocate for diverse paraeducators and community members to help them pursue careers as professional educators Develop resources and supports for program graduates as they move into their first years of teaching Cultivate and nurture partnerships with higher education faculty and staff to recruit and refer students, support students through the application and financial aid process, address barriers as they arise, and develop stronger, more equity-centered pathways to degrees and licensure Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with program participants and maintain a detailed participant database to inform outcome tracking, monitor individuals’ progress, and coordinate ongoing supports Develop a comprehensive understanding of educator preparation programs at partnering institutions as well as key financial aid resources and other student supports. Recruit diverse paraeducators and community members to help them explore and pursue education careers Develop strong working relationships with human resources and instructional leadership in component districts, including communicating confidential information about specific participants, sharing data, and managing financial transactions Serve as a recognized resource on racial equity, social justice, workforce diversity, and available resources for diverse individuals seeking to become educators (i.e. scholarships, employer tuition support, funds for basic needs, etc.) Establish a visible leadership presence in component districts and the community Contribute to the development of program reports and presentations for funders, district leaders, school boards, and the broader community Contribute to a positive and productive work environment Maintain regular and timely attendance Perform additional related duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Strong interpersonal skills that allow for collaborative working relationships with diverse individuals, groups, and organizations Advanced skills in case management Advanced skills in tracking, synthesizing, and reporting data Mastery of educator preparation programs and pathways to licensure Ability to design and deliver compelling presentations to a wide range of audiences Demonstrated experience engaging with and addressing issues of social justice and racial equity within education systems Effective written and oral communication skills Recruitment and marketing skills Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service Ability to be fluid, flexible and comfortable with special projects and work with a rapidly changing set of responsibilities. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Masters Degree and professional educator license At least five years of successful teaching experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bilingual (Spanish) WORKING CONDITIONS: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this classification.
