      About the Chief Strategy Office

      The Chief Strategy Office (CSO) leads and oversees the development, communication, and execution of the NAACP’s mission-driven strategies. The CSO is primarily responsible for the alignment and integration of the Association’s goals throughout all levels of the organization. This focus includes various high-impact initiatives, leveraging strategies leading to sustainable growth, a comprehensive policy agenda, and innovation.


      About the Program Manager

      The NAACP seeks a dynamic and highly-organized, effective and articulate systems-thinker to serve as Program Manager. This role embraces the 3Cs (coordination, cooperation, and collaboration) and is primarily responsible for leading a portfolio of strategic projects across the CSO, including executing project plans, status reports, and deliverables.

      • Environmental and Climate Justice
      • Policy and Legislative Affairs
      • Learning and Impact


      RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

      • Contribute to the implementation of a strategic portfolio of work;
      • Establish and maintain processes for managing campaigns, initiatives, and projects;
      • Develop comprehensive project plans including scope, objectives and timelines;
      • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure projects adhere to schedule and budget;
      • Ensure responsive and effective communication;
      • Develop resources, presentations, and other materials;
      • Manage and coordinate team, committee, and other meetings;
      • Track multi-year program initiatives in accordance with expected outcomes and financial performance;
      • Coordinate reporting functions and track key metrics and outcomes of team’s grant-funded and other work.
      • Draft reports, memoranda, briefs, and other written communications to various audiences;
      • Serve as the liaison to teams and stakeholders, providing representation where appropriate;
      • Leverage appropriate tools to ensure efficiencies and quality of work;
      • Deliver high quality, timely work product;
      • Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by leadership.


      QUALIFICATIONS

      Educational/Professional Experience

      • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant or equivalent experience preferred;
      • Minimum of three to five years’ experience in program/project management or related field; experience in non-profit, policy, advocacy, or other civil rights organizations preferred;
      • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred;
      • Six Sigma Certification preferred;
      • Salesforce experience is preferred.
      • Practical experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies;
      • Demonstrated experience leading small- and large-scale projects;
      • Experience in a fast-paced highly dynamic, evolving organization and work environment in a national, academic or nonprofit organization program management position;
      • Effective communication skills including exceptional written and verbal skills, excellent people skills, and strong relationship-building skills with an ability to collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders;
      • Strong execution, analytical and organizational skills and demonstrated experience in prioritizing and executing multiple priorities, programs, and projects seamlessly with excellent attention to detail;
      • Demonstrated proactive problem-solving skills with strong decision-making capability;
      • Work effectively both independently, as well as, in a team-oriented, collaborative and collegial environment; and
      • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook and related Project Management Software.
