Job Description

- Provide a viable Labor Management System with system support to Cost Account Managers for Earned Value Management including manning analysis.
- Interface with other internal and external (customer) organizations in virtually all aspects of production and non-production.
- College degree and/or equivalent experience. Performs general system/data maintenance functions, generates reports, and does analysis in support of department needs.
- Must possess the ability to analyze data, diagnose problem areas, and develop detailed corrective action plans which address process improvement in a fashion consistent with company Mission Values and Guiding Principles.
- 0 to 2 years experience in Shipbuilding Industry or related field. Performs general system / data maintenance functions, generates reports and does analysis in support of department needs.
- A team player is required, with excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interface at all organizational levels.
- Experience with a PC based spreadsheet and data base is preferred, along with NASSCO’s Labor Management System (LMS) and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
- Reports directly to the Supervisor of Program Controls.
- Internal contacts are primarily within the production and Production Management. To a minor degree, interaction is maintained on a regular basis with Finance, Cost Engineering, Program Management, Materials, Engineering, Repair, and Business Development.
- External contacts are maintained with customers and/or customer representatives. Government/Military contracts require frequent interfacing with such Governmental agencies as Supervisor of Ship Building, Defense Contract Audit Agency, and the Naval Sea Systems Command.
- Develop and support NASSCO’s Labor Management System, i.e.;
- Production budget/PMB development from contract bid estimates.
- Ongoing internal and external baseline maintenance.
- Support of labor charging procedures.
- Progress and schedule review.
- System interface integrity with Master Schedules and NASSCO’s MPR System (MACPAC).
- Provide Earned Value performance analysis in support of Production Management and other organizations as necessary.
- Provide manning projections in supports of various internal needs.
- Assure NASSCO’s policies and procedures are consistent with good business practices, company long-term goals, and are compliant with all contract requirements.

Work primarily conducted in an office setting with good lighting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing. Must be physically able to commute to buildings throughout the shipyard. Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Responsible to maintain quality, while performing all responsibilities in support of the various organizations with specified requirements and deadlines; striving always, for process improvement in the spirit of NASSCO’s Mission Statement.
PAY SCALE
$60,700 - $79,700
This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education.
