- Summer Institute Project Management: Work closely with the Director of Training and Higher Education Partnerships as the project lead for PERIL’s Summer Institute. The Summer Institute will bring young professionals and scholars to American University each summer to cultivate a new, diverse generation of practitioners and policymakers toward a public health approach to prevention and intervention in radicalization and violent extremism. The expectation is that within the next two years, the Institutes will expand beyond summers and the Associate will be integral to that expected growth.
- BRICK Project Management and Research: Conducts research to further the expansion of the Building Resilient & Inclusive Communities of Knowledge (BRICK) Toolkit. Applying Basic Knowledge of Training Design. Work with Communications Team to create and execute plans for outreach.
- Training, Curriculum, Development of New Clients: Maintain project milestones and deliverables on a weekly basis through PERIL’s project management software and other tools used in tracking. The Program Research Associate will also liaise with relevant stakeholders to keep them abreast of timelines for approaching deliverables, in addition to supporting meetings with core PERIL Staff.
- Other Projects as Needed: Additionally, the Program Research Associate will be expected to participate in weekly project meetings, and other PERIL initiatives and projects as needed.
- Manage undergraduate students in execution of their project activities.

- Hybrid 1-3 days in the office.
- $53,000.00 - $58,000.00/year; to commensurate with experience.
- Bachelor's degree.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Understanding of research methods
- Knowledge of intervention approaches to reduce radicalization
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse team on a variety of research projects.
- Knowledge of adult education theory and experience with training/curriculum design.

Summary/Objective
PERIL is a research organization creating evidence-based tools to reduce political polarization and disinformation. Through community-level, national, and international partnerships, PERIL offers evidence-based intervention strategies to address polarization and violence.The Program Research Associate supports multiple projects. This position also assists in the development of research-related materials and products and works collaboratively with PERIL team to meet project goals and secure deliverables.Essential Functions
