Dauphin County Social Services for Children & Youth is currently accepting applications for the full-time, day shift position of Program Specialist 1, Substance Use Programs. The Program Specialist 1 (Substance Use Programs) is responsible for assisting Caseworkers to ensure that all families presenting to the Agency with a substance use concern are connected to the appropriate community and contracted providers. This position serves as the Agency’s formal liaison to the Dauphin County Department of Drug and Alcohol Services to assist families and casework staff in identifying resources for prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery services. The Program Specialist 1, Substance Use Programs is supervised by the Casework Manager 2, Program Manager. This position oversees service provider contracts associated with the provision of substance use prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery services. This includes acting as the Liaison or point of contact from the Agency to the contracted provider, Drug and Alcohol Services case manager, and Dauphin County Drug Court to ensure that services are being provided with fidelity in a timely manner.
The Program Specialist 1, Substance Use Programs is supervised by the Casework Manager 2, Program Manager. The employee in this position is expected to plan, organize, and carry out assignments in accordance with established Agencies policies. Work is reviewed through regular consultation, weekly conferences, reports, and results achieved and an annual performance evaluation.
Two years of professional level experience in the field of children, youth, and families; and a bachelor's degree.
