      SUMMARY: The Link requires an experienced Program Supervisor for a full time positions within the new Mental Health Respite Home which will facilitate supervised overnight family visits for children and families involved with Winnipeg, Rural and Northern Child and Family Services. The unique home will provide 24/7 support for youth in a home like setting while providing families with break. The Program Supervisor will be responsible for supervising Staff, youths, mentoring, supporting the youth to engage in healthy activities and develop a positive trauma informed, strength-based philosophy. The program Supervisor must work from a person-centered, non-judgmental, trauma-informed, strength-based philosophy, also responsible for collaborating across various systems to ensure that outcomes are in the best interest of the youth, and align with the overall mission and purpose of the program.

      The Program Supervisor - Kent Road Lodge will coordinate and assist with the daily business operations nurturing an organizational culture in our work environment that promotes alignment with our organizational performance goals, our espoused organizational core values, and specifically our strategic drivers of becoming youth-centric, a center of excellence and building culturally safe services and programs.

      PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: of the Program Supervisor include, but are not limited to:

      • In consultation and collaboration with the Leadership and Operational teams, the Kent road lodge Program Supervisor coordinates and implement strategies, plans, programs, projects, tools, data and reports.
      • Implements annual and operational plans to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment with the goals of the organization.
      • Ensures accountability to achieve the strategic directions of the organization.
      • Motivates, leads and supervises the Kent Road Lodge team members in order to achieve the aims of the organization.
      • Coordinates and maintains reporting expectations for the program.
      • Represents The Link: Youth and Family Supports both externally as well as internally.
      • Participate in hiring and interviewing of Staff within the program.
      • Promotes and complies with various legislations (i.e. Workplace Safety and Health Act, adhering to Public Health Orders (COVID-19), Human Rights Act, Department of Families Licensing standards).
      • Promotes and liaises with the external environment to determine the future needs and direction of the program.
      • The Program Supervisor of the Kent Road Lodge will be responsible for the performance and attendance management of staff.
      • Ensures casework is based on the program purpose statement.
      • Implements program policies.
      • Prepares and works within a budget for the program.
      • Undertakes new endeavors based on community and organizational needs - i.e. The Link database and other modernization initiatives.
      • Networks with community resources and addresses external request.
      • Attends team meetings and training as required
      • Other duties as requested

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      The successful candidate should demonstrate the following competencies, which incorporate the Seven Sacred Teachings- Love, Respect, Courage, Honesty, Wisdom, and Humility & Truth.

      Essential Requirements

      • Post-secondary education in Human Services or a combination of education, work experience and lived experience may be considered.
      • Five (5) years of progressive related experience working with families in a supportive manner.
      • Five (5) years of leadership experience, leading teams and programs.
      • Being on call is a requirement for this role.
      • Demonstrated understanding and appreciation for issues and concerns of Indigenous peoples within a child welfare environment.
      • Ability to handle sensitive situations and confidential information in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
      • Effective problem-solving ability and strong communication skills.
      • Experience working with vulnerable children and youth with an array of behavioral needs.
      • Strong counseling skills and experience in Relational Care, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
      • The ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
      • Person-focused crisis resolution and clinical counseling experience.
      • Business management and public relations training preferred, but not required.
      • Knowledge of systems for children in care, school, and family functioning and child welfare preferred.
      • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills; Ability to adapt to changing circumstances or conditions with flexibility and compassion
      • Knowledge of Strength-based philosophy and knowledge of Indigenous culture and language preferred.
      • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, a clear Child Abuse Registry Check with acceptable Prior Contact Check outcomes and a clear Adult Abuse Registry check; all completed within the last 3 months

      Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 3 (three) months

      • ASIST Certificate (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) and/or any de-escalation training preferred;
      • Mental Health First Aid & Safe Talk;
      • The Link Commit 2 Kids Training;
      • Certification in either DLE (The Purposeful Use of Daily Life Events) or TCS (Therapeutic Crisis Solutions).

      **Valid driver’s license and use of personal vehicle is a requirement for this position**

      HOURS OF WORK: This is a full time position at 40 hours per week and required to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
      Salary: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour with a benefit package, pension plan, paid sick leave, vacation and paid personal leave days
