      These positions provide clerical, technical, and administrative support to the Caregivers Section of the Enrollment Eligibility Division (EED) of the Health Eligibility Center (HEC) of VHA Member Services (MS). HEC manages the nation-wide VA medical benefits program, including Veterans' health care eligibility-verification and enrollment programs. These positions are located in Atlanta, GA.

      Qualifications


      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GS-05: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level in Federal service. Specialized experience includes: performing clerical duties in an office or healthcare environment; using a computer to perform administrative duties; answering and directing phone calls and visitors; preparing and typing letters, reports, and memoranda; and providing efficient and courteous customer service. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit. ~OR~

      A bachelor's degree or 4 years of successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business or technical school, junior college, college, or university for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. One year of full-time undergraduate study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business or technical school.       An equivalent combination of specialized experience and post high school education as described that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of this position. Your experience must be detailed, and transcripts required.

      IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

      Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

      Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary with some light physical demands. The employee is often required to perform data entry and navigate various computerized systems for long periods of time. The work environment includes everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of an office environment.
