SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to this Program Support Assistant position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-5). Specialized experience includes utilizing a variety of computerized programs and software to maintain electronic files and databases; scheduling and/or updating appointments or information in a patient health/medical record; and responding to correspondence and inquiries via email, by phone and in person. This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the specialized experience, applicants must be able to type at least 30 words per minute.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The majority of work is performed in an office setting and primarily sedentary. There can be demands for standing, walking, bending, light lifting, and long periods of sitting. The employee is required to make and answer numerous telephone calls and must have adequate eyesight and hand dexterity to allow for reading and operating a computer terminal. The employee must be able to function calmly under stress.
