      There is extraordinary work being done by Washington State University’s (WSU) Pesticide Resources and Education Program at WSU. For over thirty years the Pesticide Resources and Education Program has provided engaging pesticide safety education to address critical issues facing Washington State and the Pacific Northwest regarding pesticides. It has also provided Washington and Oregon with up-to-date pesticide information by serving as a data query resource to enable the safe and informed use of pesticides. The Pesticide Resources and Education Program provides courses and expertise that help guide decision-making and policy initiatives across the state and the country.

      Under the guidance of the Pesticide Resources and Education Program leadership, the Program Support Coordinator will lead and manage the administrative day-to-day operations of the WSU Pesticide Resources and Education Program in Pullman, Washington. This role will develop and manage relationships between Pesticide Resources and Education Program’s Pullman and Puyallup team members, clientele, and regulatory agencies.

      60% Pesticide Resources and Education Program Program Admin Support

      • Oversee administrative aspects of the organization and the implementation of program events such as workshops and conferences; including working with vendors, speakers, travel agencies, units across WSU , and peer institutions.

      • Perform the day-to-day administrative operations of the Pullman office. Work with Extension Coordinator Seniors on various tasks; including revenue/expenses, creating and maintaining standard operating procedures for office processes, database building, and e-mail/phone call etiquette with quality, processing, and reporting in mind.

      • Assist with the production of communication materials for public audiences. Materials include the preparation of brochures, reports, and email blasts. The Program Support Coordinator will gather information for writing, editing, graphic design, and releasing of material.

      • Work alongside Director to search for grant opportunities, as well as coordinate and write draft grant submissions. Pesticide course customer management. Duties include answering phone calls and emails, assisting clients with courses and webinars; monitoring participants; running attendance reports; answering and directing general questions

      • Website updates, proofreading, and editing.

      • Social Media updates.

      • Manage Contracts/Vendors

      20% Fiscal Management

      • Oversee and manage revenue and expenditure of service centers

      • Create standardized and ad hoc reports for leadership and other meetings.

      • Create internal operating procedures for expenditures and requisitions.

      • Manage operational workbooks of manuals and courses sold.

      • Maintain a filing system

      15% Online Course Coordination

      • Lead revenue-based multi-state Internet pesticide recertification: course development, participant and courseware database management, customer service, fiscal management, and communications with state regulatory agencies.

      5% Other Duties as Assigned

      • Statewide and national travel to workshops and courses.

      • Investigate new technologies as it pertains to, databases, fiscal management and other program activities.

      • Track and replace office supplies as needed.

      This is a full time (100% FTE), temporary position. This position is overtime eligible.


      Temporary End Date: This is a temporary position expected to end on August 1, 2026. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.

      Monthly Salary: $3,750.85 - $5,397.56 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications

      In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

      Required Qualifications:

      • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant extension program discipline and two (2) years of related program experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

      • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.

      • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and support diverse clientele populations.

      • Proficiency in the use of computers, MS Office software programs workspace.

      • Demonstrated proficiency in fiscal management, including budgeting, financial tracking, and reporting.

      • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations and collaborative teams.


      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) Pesticide License.

      • Ability to track and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

      • Fluent in Spanish.
