      SUMMARY OF POSITION:

      Springs Rescue Mission considers every position one of ministry and a vital and valued part of our team. The Programmatic Housing Supervisor position exists to ensure a safe and smooth operation of the Hope Program Housing in line with SRM’s Campus Philosophy. Supervisor should aim to create supportive and accountable relationships that model Christ likeness in patience, kindness, and hospitality that encourages an atmosphere of mercy, grace, and authenticity with all clients and staff of SRM. This position provides supervision for all Hope Program housing facilities and is responsible for training. This position models SRM guidelines in interactions with Hope Program clients with a primary focus on leading all Programmatic Housing Coordinators and volunteers to provide hospitality and compassion while upholding the Hope Program policies and procedures that ensure effective functioning of the Hope Program towards SRM outcomes of Health, Work, and Housing.

      DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Collaborate with Programmatic Housing Manager to establish and implement Hope Program housing policies and procedures that encourage overall safety and security while maintaining on-going communications. Establish and supervise policies and procedures that promote healthy lifestyles and client growth.
      • Provide day-to-day supervision of the Programmatic Housing Coordinators under the guidance of the manager.
      • Train all new Programmatic Housing Coordinators and volunteers on Hope Program Housing operations
      • Ensure proper execution of Hope Program Housing Operations to include:
      • Prepare Healthy Engagement (chores list and monitor through coordinators so daily tasks are completed
      • Oversee daily safety & cleanliness inspections to ensure all necessary housing expectations have been completed and take appropriate action with clients when standards are not met.
      • Provide direction for staff and volunteers.
      • Maintain schedule of evening activities and hold clients supportively accountable to Hope Program policies and procedures for participation.
      • Ensure strict adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
      • Attempt to diffuse client situations before escalation, handle disputes and altercations appropriately.
      • Respond to emergency situations such as client health crisis, behavior issues, fire, water damage, or accidents.
      • Document incidents in an accurate and timely manner and submit reports to Manager and other appropriate staff on Hope Program team.
      • Understand operations of all security systems including alarms, fire panel and smoke detectors
      • Conduct fire drills and emergency evacuation procedures as instructed
      • Take opportunities to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and provides prayer support as needed or requested
      • Attends all required meetings and reviews SRM emails regularly
      • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.

      Requirements

      EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

      • Minimum Associates Degree. Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
      • Two + years of experience within a Christian recovery environment or social service organization preferably working with the homeless
      • Two years of sobriety, if in recovery

      SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and is a constant witness. Christ-centered and compassionate attitude in dealing with people including the homeless and faithfully upholds and exemplifies SRM’s Statement of Faith
      • Serves as an advocate for the homeless and raising awareness of the needs and concern for the addicted, and those in poverty; engaging others within one’s influence of greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of this population in Colorado Springs.
      • Believes that volunteers are vital to accomplishing the Vision and Mission of Springs Rescue Mission and thus is part of mobilizing the community in the fight against addiction, poverty, and homelessness
      • Committed Christian, able to provide a clear Biblical testimony of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior.
      • Desire to serve the Lord in ministry to the lost, hungry, cold, and frightened. Be able and willing to exercise compassion and discernment while modeling the pursuit of Christ likeness.
      • Able to engage in natural conversation with clients, offering hope for change in a journey from brokenness to a new life based on relationship with Jesus Christ
      • Ability to handle crisis and unexpected situations with calm and clear thinking, demonstrating good analysis and judgment to bring resolution.
      • Trustworthy, reliable, insightful, and perceptive.
      • Able to maintain confidentiality
      • Knowledge of addiction and recovery preferred
      • Able and willing to honor and uphold the leadership and mission of SRM.
      • Thorough, systematic, and organized with regard to security and protocol.
      • Street knowledge and understanding of anger management highly desired
      • Computer literate, able to use basic office equipment
      • CPR/First Aid preferred
      • Able to read, write and perform basic mathematical computations
      • Flexibility in working hours, including on-call availability and willingness to work holidays as they coincide with regular shifts

      WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS:

      Occasionally = 1%-33%; frequently = 34%-66%; continuously = 67%-100%.

      • Work primarily performed in a typical office and shelter environment, with some meetings held outside of regular business hours. Will include frequent and regular interaction with lower-income and disenfranchised population including but not limited to mentally ill, addicted, and homeless as well as frequent interaction with angry, frustrated and potentially violent guests.
      • Occasionally: must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, bend or stretch, climbing stairs n a daily basis
      • Frequently: walking, talking, manual dexterity
      • Continuously: sitting, adequate vision and hearing, good mental condition to withstand consistently medium to high levels of stress

      Salary & benefits include the following: $21.00-$22.00 per hour , DOE.

      * Full benefits package to include: medical benefits with SRM paying 85% of the medical premium, voluntary Dental, Vision, Allstate Accident Plan, SRM-paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance, and AD&D. Also offered are 8 paid holidays, 21 days of accruable PTO, paid “Soul Care Retreat” days (up to 4 depending upon availability) Pay on Demand, and a 403b retirement plan with SRM-match after one (1) year, 100% vested beginning DOH; (Benefits are subject to change based on reevaluation or benefit plan changes annually.)

      *Benefits begin at 1st of the following month after completing a full 30 days of employment (I.E. start date 4 January 2024, benefits initiate 1 March 2024)
