      Milroy Construction is looking to add an Accountant to our San Francisco Bay Area Team.

      The entry to mid-level Corporate Accountant will be responsible for processing accounts payable transactions and assisting with project-related accounting duties. This role will support the accounting team by ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial transactions while maintaining organized records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and interested in developing a career in corporate accounting.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Process and enter invoices into the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and proper coding to the correct cost categories and projects.
      • Verify vendor invoices, purchase orders, and payment approvals in accordance with company policies.
      • Assist with managing subcontractor and supplier payments, ensuring timely processing and adherence to contract terms.
      • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
      • Assist in maintaining financial records related to construction projects, including tracking budgets, change orders, and project costs.
      • Support monthly and quarterly financial closing processes, including accruals and reconciliations.
      • Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting for ongoing projects.
      • Assist with preparing financial documents for audits and compliance reviews.
      • Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records, both digital and physical.
      • Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as needed to support the team.

      Qualifications & Skills:

      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
      • 0-2 years of accounting experience (construction industry experience preferred but not required).
      • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
      • accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300, Procore, or similar) is a plus.
      • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
      • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
      • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

      About the Company: We are a general contractor located in Mountain View, California. Our current headcount is close to 50 and we are growing. We primarily manage commercial and industrial construction projects in the Bay Area. We specialize in small to midsize projects. We pride ourselves in delivering a best-in-class project management experience, and are focused on teamwork and creating a positive work environment.

      Job Type: Full-time

      Pay: $65,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $42.00/hr.
