      Job purpose

      As a PROJECT ACCOUNTANT, the purpose of this role is to manage the full project revenue cycle, including billing, collections, and reporting, while ensuring accurate project setup, cost analysis, and government contract compliance.

      Summary of Essential Job Functions:

      • Manage the full project revenue cycle, including preparation of monthly billings, collections, and providing updates to the Controller and GM.
      • Conduct project analysis and closeouts, identifying issues, explaining variances, and communicating findings to relevant parties.
      • Set up projects and work orders in the ERP system, including managing change orders, budgets, and growth tracking.
      • Prepare monthly project-related journal entries.
      • Generate daily and month-end WIP reports for distribution to key stakeholders.
      • Update daily time reporting and track equipment usage.
      • Review cost reports for accuracy and ensure correct capitalization transactions.
      • Assist with government contract reporting and billing through WAWF.
      • Perform additional tasks as directed by management.

      Work Environment

      This job operates in a professional office environment on the shipyard. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Routinely, there will be a need for the incumbent to work/walk Lyon shipyard and all areas therein.

      Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work

      This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. This position periodically requires long hours and weekend work. Regular and predictable on-site attendance is an essential function and a prerequisite to perform other essential functions of the position.

      Required Education and Experience

      1. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with 3 years of cost/project accounting experience and related financial procedures.

      Preferred Education and Experience

      Education based on requirements that are job-related and consistent with the business necessity.
