      Purpose and Scope

      OVERVIEW

      SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

      Delivers at a high level of competency in management of special projects at the direction of the Director and Deputy Chief, working on unusually complex problems and providing solutions that are highly innovative and ingenious, achieving quality and work process improvement.

      Essential Job Functions

    • Manages a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one of multiple lines of leadership.
    • Develops, support, and promote leadership development goals, including message development, social media content creation and media outreach.
    • Builds and maintain relationships with the Office of Communications, local universities, foundations and non-profits, bloggers, investors and customer audience that will help advance the Leadership Development initiatives.
    • Takes on special projects and new programs, in a project management role or otherwise, at the direction of the Director and Deputy Superintendent.
    • Supports the Director in developing and implementing a Board engagement strategy.
    • Provides leadership and a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, resourcefulness, and competency in project management, and is viewed as an expert in the field.
    • Works collaboratively with other professional and management to achieve a system-wide result. May lead a team in the effort.
    • Deals with unusually complex problems and provide solutions that are highly innovative and ingenious, achieving quality and work process improvements. Ensures that the workgroup’s goals and activities are in sync with and support the broader goals and objectives of the organization and that the execution of responsibilities is in accordance with lawful and ethical standards.
    • Directs the preparation and maintenance of a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records, correspondence, and files related to assigned services, activities, and operations; provide for appropriate research and compile reports, as needed.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
    • Minimum Qualifications

      Graduation from an accredited university or college with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field; Plus four (4) years of related experience in related field; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience totaling eight (8) years. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED).

      Degree Equivalency Formula:

      Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

      Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
