Job Description
"Purchasing representative in Product Projects: Act as the Part Project Leader Purchasing for product projects during the PDP process. Serve as the first point of contact for purchasing-related topics in product projects, ensuring seamless communication and resolution of issues. The PPE ensures the early involvement of Purchasing in all new product projects. The PPE ensures that all required purchasing operations are executed within the given time and cost frame and supports the achievement of project targets from the purchasing point of view.
Product Development Process (PDP): Initiate and coordinate all purchasing-related activities in alignment with the “Activity List Purchasing” within the Product Development Process (PDP). Track the target costs and report the gaps. Ensure the achievement of purchasing-related milestones within the PDP.
Accountable for application of Project Purchasing Tools: Accountable for the application of project-specific purchasing tools and ensure these tools are used effectively to support project execution. Eg: Activity Plans, Sourcing Papers, New Parts Tracking, and Process Descriptions, etc.
Target Costing: Track the target costs and report the gaps.
Participate in Project Meetings: Attend project meetings, including Core Team discussions, Risk Management reviews, etc. to ensure purchasing input is incorporated into decision-making.
Reporting and Tracking of Purchased Parts: Report the status of purchased parts to the project leader and core team, track their progress, and coordinate work packages with the affected departments. Manage reporting using methods like TEVO.
Ensure Information Flow: Maintain continuous communication within the Purchasing organization, providing updates on the project's current status and any purchasing-related issues.
Management Escalation and Support: Drive and ensure management escalation is applied to key issues when necessary, keeping project objectives on track.
Material master maintenance: Responsible and accountable for maintenance of ESN, Purchasing group and tool rent relevance in material master.
Collaboration within Purchasing: Establish and maintain alignment with key internal stakeholders, mainly MGM. Ensure cohesive and effective strategy execution on the overall project level. Besides, the PPE coordinates the interface between purchasing functions and PDP.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary contact to the cross-functional teams in regard to the PDP process, and ensure coordination and effective implementation of purchasing strategies."
