      Job Description:

      Project Coordinator: Health & Nutrition

      The Role:

      The Project Coordinator will lead the technical aspects of the project ensuring effectiveness of routine work in health facilities supported by this project. S/he will be responsible for establishing systems and ensuring that all project activities are implemented accordioning to technical qualities Ministry of Health policies and WHO standards.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Lead the project technical work.
      • Establish and implement systems for technical supervision, management, and quality improvement.
      • Ensure essential health services are being implemented to technical guidelines.
      • Ensure all Ministry of Health (MOH) policies and procedures are implemented
      • Oversee training of health professionals.
      • Oversee efforts to improve health service coverage and utilization including community engagement.

      Essential:

      • Bachelors degree in Public Health, Medicine, or Nursing.
      • A minimum of ten-years full time experience of managing health service delivery projects, preferably in fragile contexts with focus on child health/Immunization.
      • Training in Project Management, planning, M&E and report writing.
      • Training in RH, EPI, TB, Nutrition, IMCI, IDSR and HMIS.
      • Demonstrated experience in health service quality improvement.
      • Demonstrated experience improving health service coverage and utilization in fragile contexts.
      • Experience with tools and systems to improve health service delivery and quality.
      • Demonstrated experience managing health service provider training.
      • Substantial experience working with Governments and partners in fragile contexts. Experience with Somalia Government at the Federal and State levels is preferable
      • Substantial experience with capacity development, preferably in the health sector

      Working Environment:

      The position will be based in Dollow, Jubaland State with regular travel to other field locations including Hirsheblele and South West State for donor and stakeholders’ engagements.
