This position serves as a project scheduler and demand manager for Packaging System Operations. He/she is accountable for establishing, administering, and implementing project schedule information for PSO. He/she is also accountable for managing new turbomachinery and loose and drop ship demand. Working with the Schedulers and Planners in each of the Company’s other business segments, the incumbent will interface other business units to facilitate accurate planning of parts, capacity, commitments, and backlog.

Assets Impacted: PSO and TMP, TurboFab, Superior Gear manufacturing workforce, machine/facility resources, capacity plans, and inventory turn performance, ancillary equipment providers and major driven equipment suppliers.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position reports to a Value Stream Manager in Package Assembly. Key interfaces include: Area and Group Managers, Master Schedulers and Value Stream Managers of the various CS, PSO and TMO, purchasing and manufacturing operations, as well as personnel in the Finance, Design Engineering, Sales, Business Management and Marketing organizations across Solar. The position requires in-depth knowledge of PSS, Baan Manufacturing, Baan Projects, Class A MRP II planning parameters, business planning and integration techniques and a high degree of turbomachinery, package and controls product, and manufacturing process knowledge.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Interfaces with Business Development and Business management in the support of new turbomachinery sales.
Administer the PSO Scheduling systems for packages and drop and loose-shipped equipment in BAAN.
Administer the PSO Project Scheduling Systems (PSS) for packages and loose-shipped equipment.
Administer the PSO monthly inventory process.
Work with the responsible Schedulers in other organization to collectively develop an achievable business plans that are supportable in terms of production capacity, inventory.
Integrate and sequence all operational demand backlogs for PSO and TMO supplied equipment in support of new turbomachinery sales projects.
Schedule and revenue information that supports monthly project revenue recognition.
Interface Packaging Operations work order closings and inventory transfers to its proper project activity budget.
Close scheduled demand and inventories to transfer them to Business Management controlled sales orders.
Work with the Finance organization to prepare financial RBM assessments and reports related to S&OP monthly business planning process.
Use special material forecasts to reduce manufacturing lead times by planning material requirements and level-loading manufacturing facilities.
Support long-lead inventory forecasting and master scheduling for Turbomachinery for all associated operations and manufacturing organizations.
Establish and maintain strategic inventories that enable shorter response times for aggressive customer deliveries.
Actively engage in CPS efforts to streamline our manufacturing processes, reduce cycle times, improve capacity, and reduce gross inventory turns in support of overall business objectives.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
College degree in a related field (business, engineering, or similar) or equivalent experience
Preferred 1-3 years experience with materials, materials forecasting, turbo-machinery package, assembly, turbine assembly, and the package sales acquisition process.
APICS certification in Materials Management (CPIM), Integrated Resource Management (CIRM) is also preferred.
Black Belt experience is recommended, as this position requires the ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize data.
Ability to influence individuals in organizations with whom the incumbent has no direct reporting relationship.
Must be task-oriented, have the ability to use established support tools to forecast and create accurate demand profiles and work with a variety of internal and external support personnel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as a working knowledge of the following computer tools that are used on a routine basis: Microsoft Office, Outlook email, On-Line Drawing system and Baan, among others.Summary Pay Range:
$85,954.00 - $128,930.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
