- Supports delivery of engineering excellence in their assigned project(s) through coordinating and delivering the engineering for an assigned project scope to schedule and in accordance with applicable procedures, specifications and standards.
- Coordinates a series of activities performed by engineers, designers and others from multiple engineering disciplines to support the timely issuing of engineering deliverables to meet project specifications.
- Ensures engineering disciplines comply with all applicable quality and HSE requirements in preparation of deliverables
- Schedule preparation, planning and resource forecasting for engineering activities relating to the project
- Ensures accurate and timely delivery of work and resolves minor delays and change to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers.
- Alerts Project Manager in the event of major delays or change; revises scope and supports implementation of approved changes.
- Coordinates and assures technical excellence of interdisciplinary project deliverables Prepares project plans and multi-discipline documents such as basis of design, subcontract scopes of work.
- Able to coordinate inputs from multidisciplinary engineering teams in one office location, OR from a single discipline team across multiple execution centres
- Coordinate inputs to and issue engineering deliverables such as Designs, Reports etc, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Execute assigned project scope in accordance with the project engineering manhour budget and schedule requirements
- Implement the engineering workshare strategies for multi-centre execution projects for assigned project scope, responsible for the quality of the Project Engineering deliverables prepared by the workshare centre.
- Coordinate engineering activities performed by others

- Report on progress issues.
- Develops a good knowledge of engineering standards and procedures; participates in key events gaining practical experience.
- Checks Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) implementation by review against standards, procedures, work practices and literature.
- Prepares project specific procedures under guidance. • Ensures that the Engineering disciplines comply strictly with the contract and scope of work in completing project activities
- Responsible for assuring quality of engineering deliverables before issue to customer
- Chairs technical meetings with Third Parties and manages particular technical issues through to completion
- Plans individual work activities and manages time; liaises with disciplines to ensure timely receipt of comments.
- Fully understand the requirements of the project schedule and hold regular reviews.
- Expedite Engineers to deliver to schedule, fully understand reasons for delay and assist in developing recovery plans.
- Resolves minor delays or change and escalates more serious issuesChange management
- Highlights and quantifies changes that impacts work.
- Able to effect change when approved.
- Supervises and coordinates work of technical professionals in the delivery of engineering deliverables, does not have ongoing line management responsibility.
- Coordinates medium sized multidisciplinary team (typically 10-50); develops skills of leadership with minimum intervention from manager.
- Communicates with line managers highlighting issues and deficiencies

- ISCED Level 6 Bachelor’s (minimum) degree or Level 7 Masters (preferred) in an engineering discipline
- Typically require 4-8 years relevant experience gained either as a discipline engineer in a project environment or in more junior project engineering roles
- Good understanding of technical work scope, key dates and milestones.
- Completely familiar with project contractual and commercial requirements.
- Fully conversant with project scopes and work carried out by all engineering disciplines and various interface and inter discipline coordination requirements among the various disciplines including procurement and construction.
- Understands the concept of customer satisfaction and is able to deliver to internal customers, including other Engineering disciplines
- Understands and knows how to apply the procedures and work practices which define and govern Engineering Management and Project Engineering deliverables
- Understands the importance of Project Engineering deliverables and the need for accuracy and timely issue
- Commercially astute and aware of the importance of Change control.
- Has a good knowledge of engineering standards, procedures and work practices; follows project execution flow chart; developing skills in project and technical execution.
- Able to lead small team; develops skills of leadership with minimum intervention from manager.

Wood Process & Energy is recruiting an experienced Project Engineer to support the development of a number of projects in the Oil / Gas, Chemical and Petrochemical sector. The role will be on contract basis and based in our Glasgow's office.
