      In 2021, Repsol expanded its renewables operations to the US through a 40% acquisition of a large U.S.-based PV solar and battery storage project developer.       The Project Engineer is the primary technical point of contact for Repsol, vendors, and the internal project team. The role is to be the liaison between the EPC contractor’s engineering team, owners’ engineers and the Repsol project and engineering team. This position is responsible for ensuring the timely completion of project deliverables that may include civil, structural, mechanical, instrumentation and electrical. All while maintaining budget, schedule, and identifying scope changes as they arise. In conjunction with the Project Manager, the Project Engineer will develop an execution strategy that meets or exceeds these goals.

      This position is based in The Woodlands, or Downtown Houston, Texas, and offers a hybrid work schedule. Three days in the office and two days from home.

      Responsibilities

      • Work with the Project team to develop project objectives by reviewing proposals and schedules.

      • Prepare RFQ, review Vendor Quotes, Develop Technical Bid Evaluations with Clarifications that adhere to Repsol’s and contract requirements, standards, and or go-by information.

      • Facilitate preparation of design criteria, specifications, datasheets, One-Line diagrams and elementaries for electrical equipment such as PV panels, inverters, trackers, transformers

      • Provide technical input and interface for Engineering and Design deliverables including the coordination and production of discipline specific deliverables.

      • Review Design Deliverables to ensure acceptability to company requirements and adherence to specifications and industry standards.

      • Facilitate review of Civil and structural plans, inclusive of Hydraulics and Hydrology and pile designs.

      • Facilitate review of SCADA designs per ISO and PPS requirements

      • Facilitate review of PV calculations using PVSyst or similar programs

      • Facilitate review of load flow, fault current calculation, arc flash analysis, device coordination, motor starting and harmonic studies using ETAP and SKM

      • Identify, document and promote the close out of project Action Items

      • Identifies critical path and/or progress inhibiting items, recommends corrective recommends corrective action, and coordinates with the Project Manager to follow through with implementation plan.

      • Prepares project engineering status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends

      • Provide construction and commissioning support

      Required Qualifications:

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

      • Well organized and attentive to details

      • Strong focus on safety and the ability to adhere to all safety requirement without exception

      • Ability to manage time efficiently across multiple projects.

      • Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and accepts a high degree of personal responsibility for results

      • Willingness to travel job sites as needed

      • Legally authorized to work in the USA for any employer. No sponsorship will be provided

      • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil preferred)

      • Minimum 5 years relevant experience, ideally in the development and execution of large-scale Solar and BESS Projects

      • Practical knowledge of relevant Electrical Codes and Standards including but not limited to NEC, NESC, NFPA, API, NEMA, IEEE/ANSI etc.

      • Possessing or in the process of obtaining a PE License and NCEES record is a plus
