Job Description

- Acting as the technical customer interface on the project / clarify technical requirements / ensures that the solution satisfies customer needs
- Organising the operational effectiveness and performance against the project life cycle
- Representing Engineering within the project core team and manages the functional metier delivery of requirements to contract closure, supporting / approving / guiding the teams on the deliverables of the individual projects
- Providing to management regular updates / reporting and performance analysis
- Owning several engineering work packages and taking full responsible for delivery & quality of output
- Following and updates baseline on a regular basis, validates Variation Orders demands (external or internal) requested by project, quotes them with involvement from metiers, and updates engineering work package accordingly, ensuring proper traceability.
- Approving, as a member of CCB, applicable modifications on product, and updates QCD accordingly.
- Updating Engineering workpackage accordingly
- Communicating and escalating on critical paths linked to Engineering to Métiers Managers / Head of Project Engineering / Site Engineering Director
- Relevant engineering degree
- Experience within railway
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn
- Able to work independently

Could you be the full-time Project Engineer HS2 in Derby we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to Stephen Smith (Head of Project Engineering Management, Derby) and work alongside The Chief Engineer and the Project Engineering Managers.
You'll drive the technical development of HS2. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business owning, delivering the technical scope and supporting the Chief Engineer with customer meetings and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of customer technical needs, but also representing engineering within the project core team.
