      Local Unit & Position Description

      DNV ENERGY Insights USA, Inc. seeks a Project Engineer to work at our office in Katy, Texas.

      Job Duties:

      • Design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated energy efficiency systems, performing field data collection, research, analysis, and reporting in support of residential, commercial and energy efficiency evaluation projects.
      • Perform post-installation measurement and verification to ascertain energy performance of completed efficiency installations.
      • Perform inspections and efficiency assessments of both electric and natural gas systems.
      • Analyze statistical data, energy product specifications, operations, and performance characteristics to determine standards and establish efficiency/performance objectives of energy efficiency equipment.
      • Perform analysis of measured data from loggers, recorders, and other data acquisition systems.
      • Perform data analysis using advanced spreadsheets and building simulations software.
      • Recommend methods for improving utilization of utilities.
      • Review specifications to obtain knowledge regarding installation methods, procedures, and activities.
      • Implement control objectives and activities to maximize reliability and minimize costs.
      • Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine standards.
      • Formulate sampling procedures and develop systems for recording, evaluation, and reporting quality and reliability data.
      • Analyze data to draw conclusions regarding performance and report the impacts associated with efficiency improvements.
      • Remote work permitted. The position requires 20% domestic travel.

      Salary Range: $99,415.68-$105,000

      Position Qualifications

      Main Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering or closely related field of study and three (3) years of experience as an (all levels) Energy Engineer, Project Engineer, or related role.

      In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in stated fields and three (3) years of stated experience, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering or closely related field of study and one (1) year of experience as an (all levels) Energy Engineer, Project Engineer, or related role.

      Special Skills: Requires experience with the following:

      • Review of commercial and industrial energy efficiency projects;
      • Performing energy savings calculations;
      • Generating energy savings reports;
      • Developing site-specific M&V plans;
      • Conducting on-site inspections;
      • Deploying logger-based measurement devices among affected equipment;
      • Requesting, obtaining, and processing large datasets such as utility meter data; and
      • Recommending customized solutions to a diverse array of commercial and industrial customers.
