Leads the day-to-day efforts of one or more technical projects under Program Management direction, optimizing processes and efficiencies to complete projects within budget and schedule constraints.
Oversees/manages the operational aspects of one or more assigned projects; serves as the liaison between project/program management, engineering teams, business management support teams, and customers.
Develops comprehensive project plans for new projects and studies upon contract award.
Reviews, analyzes, manages, and prepares documents and data for assigned projects; relevant areas include: budget, schedule, and status reporting; documents/data creation includes, but is not limited to: PowerPoint slides, meeting agendas, detailed/accurate, meeting minutes, reports, etc.
Acts as the primary point of contact for one or more technical projects or studies, providing guidance to the team on development, performance, and productivity.
Proactively assesses/identifies project issues and develops solutions/resolution actions to meet schedule, productivity, quality, and customer-aligned goals and objectives.
Monitors status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares timely and accurate status reports.
Performs CAM duties; understands variance analysis on cost and schedule reports.
Manages, and utilizes MS Project, Integrated Master Schedules (IMS); assertively promotes adherence to each project’s IMS.
Assesses project issues and works with appropriate parties to develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
Develops mechanisms and processes for monitoring project progress, intervention and problem-solving actions for IPTs/REs, project managers, line managers, and customers.
Provides clear and concise communications to stakeholders.
Develops and nurtures customer relationships and customer intimacy.
Provides proposal support/development, as needed.
Project Engineer: 2 Years experience with Bachelor's in STEM (Science, Math, Engineering, Technology); 0 Years with Masters.
Principal Project Engineer: 5 Years experience with Bachelors in STEM (Science, Math, Engineering, Technology); 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.
Strong verbal and written skills
Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project, etc)
Must have a Current/Active DoD Secret clearance to be considered with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI
Active DoD TS/SCI Security Clearance
Experience working within an Integrated Product Team (IPT)
Experience working on engineering projects (SW, HW, Cyber, Integration and Test, Training, etc.)
Highly experienced using Microsoft (MS) Office products to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Project
Ability, once acclimated, to perform tasks autonomously with minimal oversight/supervision
Experience using the following Web applications/Software programs: SharePoint, JIRA, and Confluence
Experience managing risk to include, but not limited to, development/identification of risks, development/management of mitigation actions, Return to Green (RTG) plans, etc.
Experience scheduling cross-functional activities
Experience with Control Account Management/Earned Value Management (CAM/EVM)

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer/Principal Project Engineer to support our OPIR Exploitation Systems (OES) Operating Unit at our Boulder, Colorado facilities.
