Building Assessment Officer - Project Manager/Estimator

Subsidence Advisory NSW is the NSW Government agency responsible for supporting property owners living in areas where subsidence from underground coal mining may occur.
This role will investigate and assess residential claims for compensation, process building applications, and provide advice and technical services.About the team – Business Capability
The Claimant Outcome North Team operates within the Newcastle and Hunter region, primarily administering the sections of the Coal Mine Subsidence Compensation Act that relate to claims for compensation, development approvals and responding to emergency, urgent and temporary actions arising from mine subsidence events.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake residential building assessments for claims of mine subsidence damage.
- Assess Building Applications for compliance with the Surface Development Guidelines within Mining Districts
- Participate in the 24hr emergency response roster, and respond to emergency mine subsidence events.
- Prepare scopes, estimates and project manage repairs to properties damaged by mine subsidence.
- Maintain good working relationships with claimants, the community, contractors and other stakeholders.
- All relevant training for mine subsidence will be provided.
To be successful in the role, you will:- Have experience in residential construction methodologies.
- Have experience in contracts management/project management.
- Ensure accuracy, high level of attention to detail, and stringent document control methodologies.
- Have an ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Display excellent judgement and sound reasoning in work processes.

Salary Clerk Grade 7/8, with the base salary for this role starting at $106,025 base plus superannuation
