- Documents results of audit ensuring that conclusions, findings, and recommendations are properly supported. Aids with the drafting of audit findings, communicating audit results to management and the documentation of remediation testing follow-up.
- Supports the planning of audit objectives and scope of assigned audits and SOX projects, as directed by Manager, Project Manager, or Principal Auditor. Assesses risk, develops audit test procedures, and conducts audit testing.
- Contributes to the department's annual performance goals, which include completing a specified number of company audits and SOX controls in a timely basis and within budget.
- Assesses risks and recommends changes to client business operations. Negotiates solutions, improvement opportunities, and management corrective actions.
- Represents the department as a business partner that adds value and is willing to assist with all Sempra activities. Sets a tone to encourage company management to call upon Audit Services for assistance.
- Assists with special audit projects and department initiatives as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience, required.
- Master's degree in relevant field, preferred.
- 3+ years of prior internal audit experience, including SOX testing experience, required.
- Understanding of the audit methodology and phases, and how to apply the methodology.
- Ability to identify risks, assess their significance, and develop appropriate audit scope.
- Ability to articulate how in scope business processes, people, and technology supports the
overall business objectives, and how to associate risk and controls to the scope. - Ability to execute audit test procedures and create audit work papers to support testing.
- Ability to use data analytics and reporting tools to improve audit techniques and procedures.
- Ability to establish client relationships and lead business-related discussions with client
management when required. - Ability to understand business concepts and associating it with risk.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of company-wide financial systems (e.g. SAP), preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish), preferred.
- Professional audit certification (e.g., Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, or other relevant
certification), preferred. - Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 15%.

We offer a hybrid work environment. Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow you to work from the office three days per week and work remotely on the remaining workdays.

Supports all phases of financial and operational team audits. Provides internal customers with high quality value-added audit and consulting services across all Sempra operating companies.
