      Department Description: The Graduate Medical Education Department is responsible for the operations and administration of 36 residency and fellowship training programs at KP medical centers in Southern California. We support these programs in providing world class education for the next generation of physicians training them in the principles of Permanente Medicine.



      Target Majors: Public Health;Healthcare Administration;Data Science;



      Target Skills: Organization skills, problem-solving skills, strong written and verbal communication, ability to work independently, social media skills, good attention to detail, experience or interest in medical education, research and performance improvement.



      Internship Project/s: The intern will be responsible for creating materials which showcase scholarly projects completed by residents and fellows in our graduate medical education programs and helping to organize a project database. The intern will also support a virtual residency fair to showcase our programs to prospective applicants. Additionally, there will be opportunities to participate in ongoing projects addressing other departmental goals.




      Job Summary:

      Under supervision assists in the provision of information, maintenance of databases, report production and routine data analysis. Work is reviewed for completeness, accuracy and soundness.



      Essential Responsibilities:

      Examples of project support include: Collects, prepares and tracks reports and summaries such as: budget to actual expenditures, production statistics, and utilization of services and statistical records of performance. Performs a variety of data collection and analysis assignments. Prepares ad hoc data requests as directed. Prepares and/or formats graphs, spreadsheets and reports by utilizing office software. May be asked to maintain databases on a regular basis by entering data and preparing data extracts. May extract information from different sources to compile data. Executes existing queries for established reports. Schedules conference calls and meetings. Contributes to the development of presentations materials. Provides administrative and project support as assigned such as copying, filing, entering and extracting data. Engages in and supports project work. Kaiser Permanente conducts compensation reviews of positions on a routine basis.
