      The Opportunity

      The Metocean Systems department in Wallingford is now seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team based in Bergen, Norway.

      This role would suit someone who has extensive experience of managing complex projects, who is used to thinking on their feet, and enjoys working in a hands-on, practical environment.

      Knowledge of instrumentation and of Helideck Monitoring systems would be beneficial, but training will be provided to candidates with transferrable skills from other industries. As a key member of the team, you will get to work on industry leading projects with significant Norwegian clients using the latest metocean monitoring equipment, this is a really exciting opportunity for someone who is looking for a varied and interesting role. Additionally, you will be supported to learn, develop and progress within Fugro globally.

      Here’s what a typical day would be like:

      • Project management responsibilities for systems projects, maximising productivity and efficiency – client contact, financial management, decision making, equipment sourcing, project documentation
      • Client visits, focusing on optimisation of systems integration, expanding systems footprint and identifying diversification opportunities for Fugro
      • Interpret and implement all contract requirements for each project and ensure projects are delivered on-time to company standards
      • Writing technical and operational reports
      • Equipment selection and preparation prior to site visits, and demobilisation liaising with engineers of follow up actions

      Who we’re looking for:

      Essential:

      • Transferable, relatable project management experience
      • Fluent Norwegian and English language skills, verbal and written
      • Excellent computer literacy, including working experience of Microsoft Office suite
      • Excellent attention to detail, quality and safety

      Desirable:

      • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Oceanography, Instrumentation, Electrical or Electronic engineering or closely related subject is desirable, but not essential
      • An APM Project Management qualification is desirable
      • Data processing and report writing experience
      • Offshore experience and willingness to travel offshore if required
      • Experience in oil and gas, ocean science, renewables and/or survey industries

      Please note, you will need to pass an Offshore Medical prior to employment.
