      Job Title: Project Manager - Utility Projects

      Job Description

      Seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Manager to lead complex utility projects from initiation through closeout. These projects encompass low voltage distribution work, both overhead and underground. The role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of projects within scope, schedule, and budget expectations. This position offers a hybrid work schedule with opportunities to work from various locations, including Grand Rapids, Lansing, Kalamazoo, and Metro Detroit.

      Responsibilities

      • Lead all phases of project management including planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.
      • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure project execution.
      • Track and manage project budgets, schedules, and risks.
      • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
      • Prepare status reports, forecasts, and presentations for clients and leadership.
      • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and industry standards.
      • Mentor and support project team members, including coordinators and field staff.
      • Monitor projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
      • Collaborate with various departments to address and resolve project barriers.
      • Manage project scheduling within allocated hours for Low Voltage Distribution jobs.
      • Coordinate with Joint use companies for underground projects.
      • Serve as the single point of contact for departments when projects encounter barriers.
      • Modify dates for notification, orders, and tasks when re-design is required.
      • Collaborate on forecasting crew movement and managing workplan changes.
      • Provide weekly updates to Program Managers and Directors on project statuses.
      • Participate in problem-solving and lean management efforts to improve processes.

      Essential Skills

      • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
      • 5+ years of project management and utility experience.
      • PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint.
      • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
      • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Experience related to utility work, including LVD, Substation, Transmission, Nat Gas, and underground utility.

      Work Environment

      This role offers a hybrid work schedule with initial office-based work, transitioning to a consistent hybrid model. Work locations include Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Lansing, and Metro Detroit.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $48.08/hr.
