- Under general direction of the Chief Transformation Officer, the Thriving Families Coordinator will function as a liaison between SCDSS and the Children’s Trust of South Carolina to assist in system transformation and overall advancement of assigned prevention strategies.
- Using agile project management techniques and human- centered design practices the incumbent will partner with lived experts and local communities to co-design strategic plans for community and state level system transformation, facilitate planning/community meetings, and coordinate implementation activities related to Thriving Families Safer Children and other assigned prevention activities.
- Assists with capacity building around prevention activities for both public and private partners. Not limited to but including training activities, public speaking, or other activities for public and private partners.
- Prepares project timelines, plans, status reports and providing updates to project stakeholders and sponsors. Coordinates requests and recommended changes from original specifications with project sponsor, teams, and stakeholders.
- Collaborates closely with the SCDSS Community Trust Liaison and Children’s Trust Parent Engagement coordinator to align community engagement efforts and develop a comprehensive community prevention engagement plan.
- Develops and monitors contracts and budgets as assigned by Chief Transformation Officer.
- Perform Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duty/services as directed.

Agency Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in social work, social services, counseling, public health, or other related fields
OR a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three (3) years combined experience serving in community engagement, project management, advocacy, or prevention services.
