      Location and Schedule

      • This on-site position is based out of Denver International Airport

      • Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

      • Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If staffing challenges arise, weather conditions warrant , or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees will be required to work extended hours and/or alternative shifts (includes nights, weekends, and holidays)

      What You’ll Do

      • Develop, implement, and refine strategies for capital improvement programs that directly advance Denver International Airport's key objectives, mission, and long-term vision.

      • Collect, analyze, and interpret vast amounts of data related to airport operations, infrastructure, passenger trends, and emerging technologies to inform project prioritization and resource allocation.

      • Proactively identify, assess, and develop comprehensive mitigation plans for potential project risks, including operational disruptions, budget overruns, environmental impacts, and regulatory changes.

      • Define detailed project scopes for capital improvement initiatives, ensuring they encompass the latest advancements in airport design, construction methods, and sustainability practices.

      • Lead the development of compelling business cases for proposed capital projects, highlighting potential benefits, cost savings, efficiency gains, customer experience enhancements, and return on investment (ROI).

      • Collaborate with financial analysts and stakeholders to build robust financial models supporting business cases.

      • Present persuasive business cases to senior management and decision-makers to secure funding.

      • Foster strong partnerships with internal departments, external agencies, airlines, contractors, and community stakeholders to ensure project success and alignment with diverse interests.

      • Meticulously prepare all project documentation, including but not limited to scope narratives, feasibility reports, technical specifications, procurement documents, and change orders.

      • Create and maintain master project schedules using advanced project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project), incorporating critical path analysis, resource optimization, and contingency planning.

      • Generate clear and informative status reports for stakeholders at all levels.

      • Develop accurate project budgets, monitor expenditures closely, and implement cost control measures to ensure projects stay within financial constraints.

      • Manage all aspects of the procurement process, including vendor selection, RFP development, contract negotiations, and compliance with airport and governmental regulations.

      • Anticipate and manage project changes effectively, assess their impact on timelines, budgets, and scope, and communicate updates transparently to stakeholders.

      • Champion the integration of sustainable design, construction, and operational practices into all capital improvement projects, aligning with DEN's environmental goals.

      • Assess and recommend emerging technologies (e.g., Building Information Modeling (BIM), smart airport solutions) that can enhance project efficiency, safety, and passenger experience.

      • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to streamline project delivery, reduce costs, and enhance overall project success.

      • Understand the interconnectedness of capital projects with operational, financial, and strategic goals of the airport.

      • Present complex data and insights in clear and compelling visualizations for decision-makers at all levels.

      • Possess strong negotiation skills when engaging stakeholders, vendors, and contractors.

      • Embrace change and thrive in a dynamic environment where airport priorities and projects can shift.

      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to present complex information clearly and concisely.

      • Performs other related duties as assigned.

      • Any one position may not include all of the duties listed. However, the allocation of positions will be determined by the amount of time spent in performing the essential duties listed above.

      Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

      • Seven (7) or more years of experience with Aviation, Maintenance, or Facilities-type projects within critical operation similar to DEN

      • Experience with stakeholder engagement and coordination related to the development and management of projects

      • Demonstrated capability to be adaptable and flexible with the ability to balance multiple projects/priorities simultaneously

      • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

      • Excellent organization skills

      • Strong writing and verbal communication skills

      Required Minimum Qualifications

      • Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Business , Management, Public Administration, or a related field.

      • Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of professional project management experience in the related occupational group including coordinating, administering, and monitoring projects.

      • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.

      • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.

      • License/Certifications: By position, requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.

      FBI Background Check

      FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required .
